Compliance officer: An increasingly complicated, always-changing regulatory environment continues to boost demand for compliance officers, says Paul McDonald, senior executive director for Robert Half, which staffs workers in the finance, accounting, technology, legal, creative and administrative professions. Compliance officers place at No. 16 among U.S. News' business jobs rankings. These professionals can find employment in a wide swath of fields, from health care to telecommunications and finance. For example, compliance officers in the pharmaceutical field are experts in dealing with the Food and Drug Administration. For compliance officers, "the future looks bright," McDonald says. Demonstrated ability to consider forward-thinking issues at a policy level and formulate, implement, and manage creative recommendations/solutions.
