POSITION DESCRIPTION REPORTS TO: Automotive Painter Senior TITLE: Automotive Painter DATE: December PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To provide technical and operational support to the Paint Shop and to work closely with the Senior Automotive Painter to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the paint shop. To focus on quality and customer service in the delivery of all services. 2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Principal Accountabilities 1. Automotive Painter To deliver quality service to every paint job and exceed customer expectations and deadlines as determined by the work quoted. Ensure quality of service to each and every paint job Use paint spraying equipment to apply paint, determine the necessary application of paint for a thorough coat and check for runs or sags in the paint to ensure a quality finish Work proactively with the Panel Beating team to ensure delivery of work is completed to schedule Select and mix colours to match the vehicles colours Sand body areas to be painted and effectively cover bumpers, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from the paint Inspect repaired vehicles for proper functioning, completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of paint job Prime and paint repaired surfaces, using paint spray guns and motorized sanders Fill small dents that cannot be worked out File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders Read specifications or confer with customers to determine the desired custom modifications for altering the appearance of vehicles Follow policies and procedures as set out by Ben Thomas Panel Beating Ltd Position Description Ben Thomas Panel Beating Page 1 of 6

Paint Shop Operations To provide technical and operational support to the Paint Shop and Senior Automotive Painter to deliver on the Business Core Values of providing superior service while completing profitable and safe repairs to customer vehicles. Assist with the effective operation of the Paint Shop Assist with the planning, scheduling of automotive paint jobs Communicate clearly with customers, responding to customer enquiries in a professional and efficient manner Assist with preparing estimates of damaged vehicles and maintain accurate records Assist in the purchasing and inventory of necessary supplies and equipment and the maintenance and care of all tools and equipment Oversee quality of service in the product and customer experience Report any misdemeanours or client complaints to the Senior Automotive Painter Assist with all Health and Safety procedures and compliance within the Paint Shop, including, machine maintenance and safety and ensuring that good housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained throughout the Paint Shop. Performs other related work as required from time to time. 3. Oversee the operation of the Paint Shop Plan, schedule and assign repair and automotive paint jobs Regularly communicate with the Managing Director to ensure the efficient running of the Paint Shop in conjunction with the Panel Beating Shop Communicate clearly with customers, responding to customer enquiries in a professional and efficient manner Review damage reports, prepare or review repair cost estimates, and plan work to be performed Ensure customers are kept up to date on the status of their paint job Prepare estimates of damaged vehicles and maintain accurate records Provide clear leadership and direction to the paint team In conjunction with the Panel Beating ensure efficient scheduling Assist Managing Director in personnel and other shop related problems and makes suggestions and recommendations for their solution Supervise the purchase and inventory of necessary supplies and equipment and the maintenance and care of all tools and equipment Oversee quality of service in the product and customer experience Report any misdemeanours or client complaints to the Managing Director Responsibility for all Health and Safety procedures and compliance within the Paint Shop, including, Machine maintenance and safety and ensuring that good housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained throughout the Paint Shop.
