Compensation Consulting Services & Capabilities Comprehensive review of compensation levels, program design, and other practices: Cover all organization levels, functions, and regions. Address all of the components, incentive plans, and terms/conditions. Benchmark individual pay levels against relevant market practices: Is our organization approaching compensation the right way? Develop customized peer group based on factors such as size, ownership, strategy, and geographic location. Customized analyses for each individual under study based on role, responsibilities, reporting relationships, and experience. 5 Compensation Leadership Team Josh R. Anbil is a Senior Managing Director with and co-heads the firm s compensation and management consulting business, leading efforts in the private sector. In this capacity, he focuses on helping clients review and analyze their existing pay practices and determine how best to compensate their executives, managers, employees, and/or Board of Directors. JOSH R. ANBIL Senior Managing Director janbil@fplassociates.com Since joining FPL in 2004, Mr. Anbil has worked on more than 800 projects for real estate clients. He specializes in advising privatelyowned real estate firms, including real estate investment managers, private equity firms, owner-operators, developers, family-owned companies, services firms, and mortgage finance (debt) companies. Mr. Anbil is focused on helping clients develop market-competitive compensation solutions that align interests, emphasize performance and results, and attract, motivate, and retain key employees. He is an experienced presenter on compensation within the real estate industry, including at conferences hosted by National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), ANREV, and NAREC/PeerSpan, as well as client-sponsored events. Prior to joining FPL, Mr. Anbil worked for Lincoln Financial Group. Earlier, Mr. Anbil worked at Hewitt Associates, Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Anbil received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois, College of Commerce and Business Administration. FPL ASSOCIATES 5

6 Melissa B. Thelen is a Director in the compensation consulting practice. She focuses on helping privately-owned real estate companies assess the competitiveness of existing compensation programs and design and implement solutions that will attract, retain, and incentivize employees across the organization. Ms. Thelen has extensive experience conducting competitive MELISSA B. In her time at FPL, Ms. Thelen has worked on more than 350 private real estate projects in order to assist develop, design, and implement competitive compensation programs and incentive plans. Prior to joining FPL, Ms. Thelen was a Consultant within Deloitte Consulting s Strategy and Operations Practice. Ms. Thelen holds a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance and a B.A. in Public Administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Austin W. Morris is a Vice President with the compensation consulting practice. Working primarily in the private real estate sector, Mr. Morris helps clients develop market-competitive compensation solutions that align interests, emphasize performance and results, and attract, motivate, and retain key employees. Mr. Morris has spent his entire career as a compensation consultant AUSTIN W. MORRIS Vice President amorris@fplassociates.com and has extensive experience advising clients as it relates to the technical considerations of their compensation programs, including serving as a day-to-day resource to several Fortune 500 firms. His work has included equity plan consulting, employee classification, and due diligence for nearly 100 acquisitions. Prior to joining FPL, Mr. Morris was a Senior Consultant in the Compensation and Benefits practice with Deloitte.
