1 1 Last updated: August 2018 Department Writer Services Job title Basis of employment Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National Representative Part Time Award classification Clerks - Private Sector Award 2010 (Classification 3) Reports to Supervises Background to the role Senior Manager National Engagement NA This position provides an essential link in the APRA AMCOS National service between the organisation, its members and associated stakeholders in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National representative forms an integral part of the national team and would be required to liaise with all staff across the team and departments where there is a functional relationship. This position requires the incumbent to be responsible both for the informing and administration of the APRA AMCOS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy and external advocacy and relationship management Objective Duties and responsibilities Effective Industry Relationship and advocacy in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music sector Effective delivery of APRA AMCOS services in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sector To build, nurture and maintain, effective and positive member relations Key responsibilities: To provide advice and input on APRA AMCOS national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategy and policy To co-ordinate the APRA AMCOS events and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National outreach To provide high level APRA AMCOS service to existing and applicant members To identify potential Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members and applicants To provide quality public speaking, education and representation of behalf of APRA AMCOS To provide information and answer queries on all aspects of the music industry including copyright issues to both members and non-members

2 2 Regularly undertake a gap analysis of current membership representation against other relevant organisations. Administration Resolve unregistered works Complete regular research projects to identify Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander songwriting activity Resolve 888 Members Resolve Club AMCOS members Resolve no Address/no EFT members Transition incomplete webapps to membership Relationship Management: Enhance APRA AMCOS brand in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sector to ensure all eligible and potential members understand and support APRA AMCOS. Effectively advocate on behalf of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander songwriters Build and Maintain high level relationships within Government, relevant stakeholders, and industry organisations Manage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ambassador relationships to position APRA AMCOS as advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music. Establish consultation sessions with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ambassador group, liaising with the director of Member Relations in the process. Support and inform APRA AMCOS corporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy. Members Ensure all member and eligible songwriters are members of APRA AMCOS Ensure all members maximise their potential to earn royalties via APRA AMCOS Provide high level member support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sector, ensuring up to date knowledge with all APRA ANCIS procedures & databases Set list collection as required New member acquisition Various database projects as directed

3 3 Reports & statistics Provide expert and critical analysis of trends within sector including; Creation of reports as required Distribution, Outreach, Project and Policy Reporting Collation of statistical information as required Events & Meetings Attendance, as required at principal Writer Services events Attendance as directed at key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander events Attendance at Writer Services teleconferences and masterclasses Project Management Support and manage events and partnership in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sector including SongHubs, SongMakers, and Starting Ground Co-ordination, budgeting and evaluation for internal events such as the; o Songwriter Speaks program o Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Connect Series o Starting Ground program o Other as directed To effectively co-ordinate the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MRM and Ambassador Projects Outreach and Education Program Presentations to music industry colleges, TAFE and Tertiary as required Research to increase APRA AMCOS opportunities at above Ongoing support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Copyright education Key relationships Member Services Senior Management Membership Member Services Management including Administration, Events, Film & TV, Publishing and Distribution National Writer Services team Other Departments: Finance Corporate Recorded Music IT

4 4 Distribution, International Relations Licensing Communications External Stakeholders: Members and applicants AU Music Industry Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts and Music Organisations Music Education Organisations Government Fed / State / Local Qualifications No formal qualifications required Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills Skills & experience Effective database management Excellent project management experience Administrative / Data entry skills Behavioural Competencies Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word Database Management Personal Integrity Methodical approach to work Demonstrated effective organisational prioritisation Capacity to work autonomously High level understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocol and culture Strong networks with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music industry Capacity to seek feedback and work within team environment Follow up queries and liaison with other departments Flexibility and creativity Other requirements All APRA AMCOS staff are expected to: Conduct themselves in a way that is aligned with our stated Brand Purpose, Values and Personality. 5 5 Time In Lieu: It should be noted that some APRA AMCOS events will be outside normal business hours and therefore some attendance at weekend and after hours will be required. Time in lieu will be given as per standard APRA AMCOS policy. Time in lieu may be accrued for these extra hours with the prior approval of your manager. You may take the accrued time as time in lieu as soon as practical, at a time agreed to with your manager. When taking time in lieu consideration must be given to your work responsibilities, the impact of leave on other staff and the staffing of the APRA AMCOS office.
