17 DGUV Campaign Culture on prevention in Germany - Core message Safety and health are values for every individual, organization and society as a whole. They are to become an integral part of all actions. Preventative action is worthwhile and meaningful. 17

18 Vision Zero in the DGUV Vision Zero is the fundamental prevention strategy of the DGUV and the connected German Road Safety Council (DVR) The DGUV autonomous administration adopted the Vision ZERO within its principles on prevention already in November 2008 Vision Zero is also the basic prevention strategy and future prevention campaigning tool of ISSA (launch in Sept. 2017) The Vision Zero is the basic strategy in order to establish an overarching Culture of Prevention The Vision Zero is not a control strategy or just a philosophy, it is a commitment strategy, it s a journey, a mindset and a process Zero accidents and zero harm to health are ethically and practically closely interconnected 18

20 Summary: All cultures and mindsets have to be respected and taken into account differing initial situations, different mindsets on prevention establishment of a culture of prevention has to take into account the cultural background of the respective group or the society and diverse societies, globalisation and their accompanying developments all objective and rational aspects might be suitable for any group of working people, but cultural and societal habits and manners have to be analysed and respected - all-embracing the general approach is to elaborate tailor-made approaches, fitting to the needs of the target-groups 20
