State Charity: Reading is Fundamental Career Development Committee Purpose: To foster career and college readiness Committee Members: Anusha Dawson- Chair; Andrew Danziger- Council Director; Sophia Lucear, Sharon Luo, and Taylor Tyczka Committee Goals To equip members with the tools needed in the job application process. To foster an understanding of the characteristics and job skills that are beneficial to career advancement. Competition/ Due Date Fueling Your Future February 15, 2019 Seeking Your Path to Success February 15, 2019 Description Members must prepare a one- (1) to two- (2) page resume, and a one- (1) page cover letter applying for a job for which you are currently qualified. Completing this challenge partially fulfills Activity 12 at the Business Level of the National Business Achievement Awards.* Recognition Chapters must hold a Participating chapters will receive Q & A session with a ribbons at the State Leadership business professional Conference. (excluding advisers). The interview should be based on the relationship between the workplace and the goals of FBLA. Chapters must submit the required form, and a 100- to 150-word report evaluating the interview. Participating members will receive a ribbon at the State Leadership Conference. The top three (3) highest scoring submissions will receive plaques at the State Leadership Conference. To encourage members to explore the possible career paths most compatible with their work ethic and abilities. Connecting with Careers February 15, 2019 Members must complete the provided career aptitude test and analyze the results. The analysis must be a 200- to 250-word report. Participating members will receive a ribbon at the State Leadership Conference. Members must submit the required form, including a screenshot of the career recommendations page. By completing all three (3) challenges, the member will not only receive each individual ribbon, but also an additional ribbon named the Super Ribbon for Career Development Challenge. *Please reference national recognition event guidelines as this competition fulfills a partial or complete requirement for national level recognition. To receive national recognition, submission at the national level is also required.
