1 DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAYA GRAMEEN KAUSHALYA YOJANA (DDU GKY) In accordance with the national policy of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Rural Development announced, as a part of National Rural Lively Hood Mission (NRLM), the dual objectives of adding diversity to income of rural poor family and catering to the career aspiration of rural youth. Earnest and Young study published in 2013 identified a shortage of 47 billion skilled workers across the globe. MoRD envisages, the demographic surplus our country is having, can be converted as a demographic dividend. DDU-GKY training programme is focused on the rural youth between the age group from poor family. It is a unique skilling programme on the basis of the aptitude of rural poor youth and subsequent job placement. Main Features of the DDU- GKY Training Programme 1) It is exclusively for rural poor youth- both gents and ladies 2) Training is totally free of cost 3) Uniforms, Text Books, Pen, bag etc will be supplied at free of cost 4) Rs.125/- per day will be paid as TA and food expenses 5) Course is only for 3 months 6) Internet, facility 7) In addition to the domain subject, classes for Communicative English, Soft Skill and Basic Computer Knowledge will also be provided 8) Certification by NCVT 9) Job Placement, after successful completion of the training 10) Post placement support CHETHANA AS A PIA OF DDU- GKY TRAINING PROGRAMME - Chethana, the social service organization of Mavelikara Diocese, is situated at Kayamkulam, Alappuzha district. The proximity to train and bus services is an added attraction to the training centre. The calm atmosphere of Chethana is most suitable for any training institution. IT hubs at Trivandrum and Ernakulam have equal distance to Kayamkulam, besides the employment opportunities available with Hospitals, Malls, Textiles and Jewellaries spread over these districts and nearby revenue districts like Kollam, Kottayam, Alapuzha and Pathanamthitta. 3 Working Conditions 50% travel to villages Eager to travel extensively to block and villages and gather information and monitor the interventions on program quality Post Graduate in MBA, MSW with at least minimum of 5 years experience in the NGO management/ Management/Educational sector Excellent project coordination skills and ability to multi-task Good understanding of educational civil society in India Willing to work under and meet tight timelines Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to produce high quality reports and updates Willing to travel extensively to any part of the state and stay for extended periods outside the district depending on programme requirements Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively deal with various external/internal partners/stakeholders Excellent knowledge (written and oral) of English and Malayalam Position 3: MIS Head Director, Quality Head, Head & SRLM Team Data management of the DDU GKY project Keeping and Storage of CCTV footage Data validation of the DDU GKY project Daily Reporting of the centre to the SRLM and NRLM MRIGS updating on the daily basis MPR review Complete documentation, filing and reservation of all the reports pertaining to the project Record keeping and submission of all the needful documents whenever it s demanded Uploading of daily attendance of trainees and trainers via ERP Batch wise record keeping of trainees applications, attendance, entitlements, rectification of any equipment and reporting the failure of equipment, reservation of certificates of the candidates 3

4 Working Conditions B.Tech in CS/IT or MCA with 3 years of relevant experience in software management, monitoring and evaluation Ability to analyze all the pros of the project and effective reportings if needed without favoring to any of working with the national program at state or district levels, Willing to travel extensively to any part of the state and stay for extended periods outside the district depending on programme requirements Position 4: Centre In Charge Director, Quality Head, Head & SRLM Team Centre management of the DDU-GKY Candidate management of the DDU-GKY Batch management Ensuring the Training quality of the Trainers and Trainees Periodic Assessment Planning of the activity and Lesson plan along with the Trainers Performance evaluation of the Trainers Monitoring performance of the Trainees Analysis of the Placement and Post placement cell performance Upholding the standards of quality training and maintaining discipline in the campus as per SOP Maintenance of the candidates certificates and other records Working Conditions 30% travel to villages 4

5 Retired from Central Govt./State Govt./ Bank services from Responsible post, Post Graduate with minimum of 5 years of experience of working with the national program at state or district levels, Willing to travel extensively to any part of the state and stay for extended periods outside the district depending on programme requirements Position 5: Community Mobilization Specialist Director, Quality Head, Head & SRLM Team Preparation of mobilization plan for the successful and smooth running of the project Conduction of mobilization camps in LSGs in association Kudumbasree Mission, NGOs, and other voluntary organizations Screening of Candidates as per the guidelines of SOP Linkages with PRIs, Govt. departments, NGOs, Voluntary organizations and other CBOs Periodic Mobilization of required quality candidates throughout the year Assisting the Head in all his duties regarding the project Reporting to Head, whenever its demanded Working Conditions 70% travel to villages, PRIs, NGOs, Voluntary Organizations, CBOs etc Eager to travel extensively to block and villages and gather information and monitor the interventions on program quality 5

6 Retired personnel from banking sector of Responsible post, Post Graduate in MBA specialized in HR/Marketing with minimum of 2 years of experience in mobilization and personnel management of working with the national program at state or district levels, Willing to travel extensively even after the office works Position 6: Finance Head Director, Quality Head, Head & SRLM Team Public Finance Management System (PFMS) management on the daily basis Opening of Bank accounts to candidates in the respective banks and maintenance of their records Transfer of incentives to the candidates periodically to their respective bank accounts Time bound management of the project staffs and the trainers Training cost management of the project as per desired Heads Preparation and custody of debit and credit vouchers; and filing of documents Proper maintenance of bank records, pass books, cheque books, correspondence with bank etc. Daily maintenance and entry of Book of Accounts and daily generation of Tally backup Prepare and Maintain book of accounts for annual auditing of the organization Working Conditions 6

16 CHETHANA INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY, the official social work organisation of the Diocese of Mavelikara was constituted in 2007 and registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act XII of Chethana facilitates self-help organizations, organizing and empowering the poor, women, widows, handicapped, aged, children and also the unorganized and marginalized sections of the society irrespective of caste, creed and religion. It is within 6 regions such as Mavelikara, Kattanam, Chengannur, Kadampanad, Puthoor and Kollam consisting of 24 Local Units having 470 Self Help Groups (SHGs), 15 CBR groups, 10 Senior Citizens groups and 54 Children groups.the coverage geographical area includes 95 villages of the revenue districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha having a total population of about 3 million.
