1 General information The report you received includes your outputs from your team in the Essity Engagement Survey The information contained is comprehensive and enables us to look at individual units. The outcome of the Essity Engagement Survey 2018 will be a valuable tool to drive improvement. This report will help you to understand strengths and weaknesses and to define actions that will support your teams performance. 2 Glossary Index The average assessment (mean) of multiple aspects that describe a common phenomenon. Index results are presented in a diamond. Dimension The thematic blocks in the questionnaire. Dimension results are presented in a square. Aspect The specific statements ( questions ) in the questionnaire. Aspect results are always presented in a circle. Traffic light scale The traffic light scale indicates the need for action: red (0 to 61): you might want to work on these aspects; yellow (62 to 73): ok, but you might have a closer look at them; green (74 to 100): maintain and promote, these are your strengths. Abbreviations The following abbreviations are used in all of the graphics of this report: A = agreement with the aspects (lies between 0 and 100) I = importance of the aspects (lies between 0% and 100%) N = number of responses 3

3 Project overview and indices The first ten slides of the report give an overview on overall results and results of the indices. The following indices are included in the report: The Essity index is the unweighted average of all those aspects of the questionnaire where we asked how much employees agreed or disagreed with an aspect and how important that aspect was to them. The Engagement index describes to what extent inner drive contributes to high performance in work. The Commitment index reflects the performance in how committed we are to delivering superior results. The Care index reflects the performance in how much we care for our customers, consumers, the environment and each other. The Courage index reflects the performance in how much courage we have to take the lead. The Collaboration index reflects the performance in how well we collaborate across teams, functions and businesses. The project overview shows the response rate and index results, and could look like for example: 4

The Essity Index (the average score in the middle of the results diagram) is the average of all the aspects of the questionnaire. It is surrounded by the results of the dimensions (= thematic blocks of the questionnaire). The average of each dimension (= average degree of agreement with all aspects of this thematic block) is also presented in the respective square. The color of the circles corresponds to the EUCUSA traffic light scale. A given index (the average score in the middle of the results diagram), for example the Engagement Index is the average of certain pre-defined aspects. The pre-defined aspects and their scores in the circles are placed around the index average score. The color of the circles again corresponds to the EUCUSA traffic light scale. 5

4 Dimensions The chart provides an overview of the results for each individual dimension. The differently shaded light grey and dark grey bars show the degree of approval (light grey) or disapproval (dark grey) on the questionnaire's 6-point scale. The light grey profile shows the strong points, the dark grey one shows the potential for improvement. There is a gap between the two bars to emphasize the perception of the two profiles. 6

5 Action portfolio and aspect charts The action portfolio supports you in setting priorities. The position of the colored points informs you about the agreement on the individual aspects (A is between 0 and 100) and their importance (I is between 0 and 100 %). The importance is scaled to the most frequently chosen aspect. In the first portfolio of action all aspects are presented on the entire scale of agreement from 0 to 100. The area that is presented in the following portfolios is shaded according to the traffic light scale. This guarantees a better overview. In case there are more aspects with the same position, you ll see on the sides which aspects these are. I=100% (N=6) Note that in each of the following action portfolios the presented scale of approval (x axis of the chart) follows the results of your organizational unit. The left-hand margin represents the lowest scores result, the right-hand margin the highest scores. The aspects to the left of the vertical axis show the potential areas for improvement, and the 5 lowest scores are listed on the right-hand side in the red box. The strong points of your organizational unit can be found to the right of the vertical axis, and the 5 highest scores are listed on the left-hand side in the green box. Focus especially on the upper two quadrants, as these show the most relevant aspects. 7

For further differentiation you will find one portfolio for each dimension as well as all associated aspect charts. These show you the frequency and distribution of the answers. You will recognize immediately whether there is a uniform opinion (normal distribution) or whether there are significant deviations (polarization). This is valuable information for the development of measures. In the dimension chart you will find the index of agreement in the top right-hand corner. The color of the edge follows the traffic light scale, which is described in the glossary. This scale is also shown on the bottom of the portfolio of actions chart. 8

In the aspect chart you will find the statements ( questions ) as stated in the questionnaire. Behind them you will find how many respondents have answered this aspect (in percentage, 100% for this example). The bar indicates how many respondents marked the respective agreement level. 9
