2 Global Engagement and Partnerships Officer International Office Do you have experience of international marketing? Do you have a passion for delivering marketing activity to enhance the University s reputation and profile in key international markets? We are seeking a proactive individual to join the Global Engagement and Partnerships team within the International Office. This role will contribute to achieving the University vision for increased global engagement and you will work closely with International office and faculty colleagues across campus to develop and maintain a broad range of international transnational education partnerships and to deliver marketing activity which will enhance the university s reputation and profile in key international markets. You will have experience of building effective partnerships between different organisations and demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high level of customer service to a range of internal and external stakeholders. This is a new role and it is initially anticipated that there will be an equal split between time spent on Leeds Transnational Engagement (TNE) and partnership activity and time spent on global engagement marketing activity. However it is recognised that there is potential for the TNE element of the role to grow over time as the University s TNE and partnership engagement develops. What does the role entail? As a Global Engagement and Partnerships Officer your main duties will include: Providing TNE and Partnerships project support to develop the University s overseas partnership network and TNE activity. This will include o working closely with overseas partner institutions to offer key account management and organise visits; o liaising with international country managers and faculty colleagues to assess the suitability of partnership proposals and gathering information to inform decision making; o advising faculty colleagues on appropriate models of TNE and partnership agreements and the university approvals process;

3 o liaising with the international marketing and SES teams to plan and deliver marketing and communications plans and undertaking visits to partner institutions which promote the outcomes and education opportunities arising from collaborative partnerships; o liaising with faculty and central services staff to ensure appropriate admissions and student support arrangements are in place for groups of incoming students through collaborative partner arrangements. Contributing to market intelligence and analysis relating to TNE opportunities; Organising and contributing to events, meetings, workshops and other initiatives to increase internal awareness and understanding of TNE and related opportunities; Contributing to the development of a suite of partnership information materials (on and off-line) for internal and external audiences to facilitate the development of partnership activity; Supporting the regular monitoring and review of TNE projects by tracking and monitoring activity and student numbers, preparing reports, presentations and disseminating information as required; Supporting Global Engagement Activity through planning and delivering marketing and promotional activity. This will include o organising and delivering reputation and brand building activity and events in-country and liaising with the University communication and marketing teams to coordinate associated marketing materials and communications campaigns; o promoting Leeds presence at key international sector conferences, events and summits; o producing reports, data summaries, preparing and delivering presentations on global engagement activity; o contributing project and marketing support to SES and faculty initiatives directed towards the promotion of global opportunities which have been developed for students; o supporting the development of Leeds profile among key external stakeholders through attendance at external events and organising incoming visits;

4 o coordinating Leeds contribution to external campaigns (for example British Council, UUKi etc) in liaison with RIS, alumni and other marketing colleagues across campus where appropriate. These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the post. What will you bring to the role? As a Global Engagement and Partnerships Officer you will have: Experience of working in international marketing; Experience of event management in an international context; Experience of designing and delivering effective marketing communications campaigns and collateral targeting a range of stakeholder groups; Experience of building good relationships and partnerships with organisations outside your own and providing a high level of customer service; Evidence of ability to write reports and marketing copy in a work context; Excellent organisation and time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks to meet agreed deadlines and with excellent attention to detail; Competent user of IT systems including Microsoft Office Applications and Customer Relationship Management systems; The ability to demonstrate a high level of cross cultural awareness; The ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends if required. You may also have: A good understanding of the key markets for UK HE recruitment; Experience of negotiating agreements/contracts with external bodies/partners.
