Location Reporting to Salary Working hours Contract Holiday Equal Opportunities Central London Senior Management Accountant 35,000-45,000 per annum (dependent upon experience) Full time. The pattern of hours may vary according to operational needs and generally work will be carried out during normal office hours. We re a flexible employer. This is a permanent contract. We help innovators turn ingenious ideas into working prototypes that can be tested in real urban settings. Then, once they're proven, we help spread them to cities across the world to improve quality of life, strengthen economies and protect the environment. We re looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant to deliver strategic finance and commercial capability for the Catapult. This includes developing, consolidating and managing all aspects of Financial & Management accounting, decision making information, audit and compliance and business intelligence.

2 Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the production and first review of Monthly Management Information contents in conjunction with the Management Accountant role Development and implementation of streamlined project reporting with key attention to the financials and the KPIs Continuous improvement of the Finance Systems to support integrated project reporting with a key focus in SAP Provide business partnering to the Head of PMO for all financial matters Lead a resource planning methodology linking the payroll with the FCC resource planning tools (Freckle & Float) Assuring new bids for financial accuracy and correct financial treatment of income and expenditure prior to approval at the appropriate project board Super-User for SAP Support for internal and external audits including EU commissioned projects Process the key month end entries for projects Holiday and sickness cover for the Management Accountant role Ad hoc duties as directed by the SMA Outcomes are what you need to accomplish in your role. Always useful to know these before you start. These are not all the outcomes you will be expected to achieve, but some of the primary ones: Within the first three months: Establish a project report for each of the projects expected to be reflected within the FY16/17 outturn figures Reconcile project reports with SAP s general ledger Understand the monthly management accounting routines with deliverables fully understood By the end of your first year: Ensure all projects are transferred to SAP with accurate profiles for project lifes Provide automated project reporting from SAP to the Head of PMO monthly Complete the external audit responsibilities with prior year audit recommendations cleared Provide all necessary project input to 5 Year forecasts and annual plans Implement the project accounting tools within SAP and move away from pseudo project accounting within the general ledger Implement the processes to underpin the Financial Regulations relating to projects Reduce the monthly accounting process timetable by 5 working days to +WD12

3 Build strong links with key stakeholders within and outside the Catapult relevant to the function Educate Project Managers with core financials relevant to their roles Essential skills and experience: Qualifications Knowledge and Experience Educated to degree level or equivalent Fully/Newly qualified accountant attained from a recognised accounting body (CIMA, ACCA, ACA). Minimum of 3 years in a management accountant function. Experience of providing support, advice and services to a wide range of customers. A strong background in the use of a computerised financial management system and an advanced excel user A strong background in internal control processes and procedures Experience of working with internal and external auditors Excellent written and oral communication skills Project Accounting experience including R&D projects Excellent communication skills, an ability to deal professionally and efficiently with staff at all levels both within the organisation and externally. Aptitudes and Abilities Ability to deliver high quality, responsive and cost effective services, both directly and through external providers Ability to analyse and solve problems creatively with a customer focused approach. Ability to build effective working relationships. Ability to work flexibly taking into account changing and evolving circumstances. Excellent team player and pro-active mindset

Project Management (Prince 2, AGILE) In depth knowledge of SAP by Design Business Intelligence Tools (e.g. Cognos) Experience within a publicly funded organisation Experience in Project accounting We are a rapidly growing organisation with a mission to make urban innovation happen.
