2 Skills Assessment Occupation: ANZSCO Code: Cook Qualification: Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) Occupational Requirements A person who works in Australia as ANZSCO Code: Cook plans and organises the preparation and cooking of food in dining or catering establishments. Specific tasks Include: plans menus and estimates food and labour costs in consultation with the Head Chef implements staff rosters and supervises the activities of cooks and assistants discusses food preparation issues with managers, dieticians and other staff members requisitions food, kitchen supplies and equipment demonstrates techniques to cooks and advises them on cooking procedures prepares and cooks food portions food, adds gravies, sauces and garnishes explains and enforces hygiene regulations may select and train staff may freeze and preserve foods The Australian qualification that matches the tasks and activities of a ANZSCO Code: Cook is the Certificate III Hospitality (Commercial Cookery), your skills assessment will match your skills and experience against this qualification.

3 How to Apply: PATHWAY 2: Applicants who already have a relevant Australian Trade Qualification If you already hold an Australian Certificate III trade qualification then you need to apply to us under 'Pathway 2'. Pathway 2 requirements are specified on the VU website go to 457 Skills Assessment Program and click on 'Information for Applicants'. Pathway 2 has four steps. You must successfully complete each step before you move on to the next one. Step 1 - Choose a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You will be lead to the Victoria University website Victoria University is a TRA approved RTO Step 2 - Provide evidence of your skills and experience in your chosen Occupation to Victoria University. Suitable evidence could include: The relevant Australian trade qualification - this must be certified Employer reports Ability to demonstrate at least three (3) years full time employment in a relevant and directly related trade, including twelve (12) months full time paid employment in the nominated trade in the two (2) years prior to lodging the application. Job descriptions of past employment Video evidence of you working in the trade Taxation records (to demonstrated time employed in occupation) Victoria University will assess the evidence you provide of your skills and employment experience. Step 3 - Participate in a Technical interview conducted in English. The Technical Interview will be conducted in English. Interpreters are not allowed to assist in the interview. Step 4 - Receive a Victoria University assessment record for visa application purposes. If you are successful in your skills assessment, you can take the successful outcome letter provided to you by Victoria University to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to apply for a subclass 457 visa. The total fee for a Pathway 2 assessment is AU$ (payment form on last page).
