1 Job Description Job Title: Reports to: Associate Vice President, Student Services FLSA Status: Exempt Level: 214 Position Class: Job Summary: This position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all activities of the Admission s Office; collaboratively implementing marketing, recruitment, communication strategies, and outreach activities that lead to improved student access and meet strategic enrollment goals. The Director will provide leadership in developing and assessing innovative communication strategies and enrollment plans that yield diverse applicant pools and greater yields. The Director will provide administrative oversight to all core College-wide recruitment and admission functions including College Ambassadors, Open House programs, Early College access, admission application processing, and outreach initiatives in support of enrollment growth. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1. Develops, coordinates and evaluates the College s comprehensive recruitment plan. 2. Supervises and facilitates the planning, implementation and budgeting for all admissions related outreach initiatives, select ambassador and calling center activities, all early college programming, and appropriate software support. 3. Oversees and manages the processing of admissions applications and initial residency classifications; including all corresponding documentation for auditing purposes 4. Provides vision and leadership for the optimal use of information technology for all admissions related services. 5. Implements and monitors effective, continuous and professional communications with prospects, inquiries, and applicants, as well as their families. 6. Manages the coordination of an annual outreach calendar and activities to include both on and off-campus events and community/high school visits. Job Description 11/2013 Page 1 of 5

2 7. Directs the facilitation of on-campus admissions workshops, campus tours, the Fall Update Breakfast, and open house events. 8. Serves as the liaison and/or project coordinator to the Public Affairs and Marketing Office for selected marketing projects. 9. Oversees the coordination of the comprehensive college-wide dual enrollment program in collaboration with the Early College Coordinator. This includes working relationships with all areas of academics, the facilitation of the enrollment process, and the publishing/printing of all applicable forms and materials. 10. Assists in the annual development of local articulation agreements between district public and private school systems, home school organizations, parents and the College. 11. Provide statistical reports detailing admissions/ outreach activities, early college enrollment, and inquiry/application trends to the Vice President for Student Affairs as requested. 12. Oversees the maintenance of the admissions, future students and early college websites. 13 Serve as member of the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Team and other various college-wide committees and advisory boards as assigned. 14 Leads and actively manages staff in the execution of goals by creating a supportive and collaborative environment for success and professional development. 15 Recommends and implements data-informed decisions for allocating staff and financial resources to achieve strategic enrollment goals. 16 Issues I-20 s to international students upon completion of all required documentation; Ensures the College maintains compliance with all regulations concerning admitting students on legal visas and immigration status. 17 Acts as the College s liaison between various United States embassies and governmental agencies and the College for immigration and international student issues. 18 Serves as the College s Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). 19 Represents the College in the community through active participation on K-12 committees/task forces, community events, public speaking engagements, and Foundationsponsored initiatives. 20 Other duties as assigned. 3 Education/Experience: Master s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university; and three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in higher education or educational leadership and a record of successful, progressive leadership experiences in college recruitment and admissions management is preferred. Supervisory Experience: Three or more years of direct supervisory experience in post-secondary education including responsibility for hiring, firing, performance management, and demonstrated organizational, budgetary, and financial management skills. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents and professional journals. Ability to respond to technical questions and/or complaints from college leadership, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence and policy and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram/chart or schedule form. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, college database, , Internet, and reports retrieval software. Basic working knowledge of administrative software packages and possesses an ability to analyze system setup and demonstrate resolutions to technical issues. Certificates and Licenses: None required. Responsibility for People and Property: Responsible for the supervision of division staff that encompasses Outreach, Admissions, Early College, Ambassadors, and College Calling Center personnel. 4 Responsibility for Communication: Internal Contacts: This position has routine contact with SCF students and all levels of SCF administration, faculty and staff. External Contacts: Routine contact with prospective students and their families, K-12 school boards/supervisory personnel, community leaders, and various vendors.
