1 BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION APPRENTICESHIP FRAMEWORK LEVEL 2

2 FRAMEWORK OVERVIEW Our business administration qualifications provide individuals with the skills and responsibilities required for an administrative or clerical role. The level 2 is designed to provide the opportunity to demonstrate a broad set of skills when carrying out business administrative tasks and develop an understanding of the principles of working in a business administrative environment. This includes specialist and sector related knowledge and occupational competence in a range of business administrative roles, for example, as an office junior, administrator, business support officer, receptionist or secretary. The programme consists of six mandatory units and a choice of 54 optional units designed to tailor the apprenticeship to the needs of the learner and the employee. The mandatory units are as follows: Communication in a business environment Understanding employer organisations Principles of providing administrative services Principles of business document production and information management Managing personal performance and development Developing working relationships with colleagues HOW WE DELIVER Whilst the programme overview identifies the plan for the delivery of the apprenticeship, we appreciate that individual learners and their employers have individual needs, learning requirements and business objectives. To ensure that we can support you to meet these, we will complete an in-depth initial skills analysis to ensure that we can tailor our delivery to meet these unique requirements. We will then use the most relevant delivery methods to support your learners to achieve, including: One to one coaching from a dedicated, professional tutor allocated to the learner for the duration of the programme Work based assignments and projects E-learning and webinar delivery Case studies and desk top simulations Job shadowing and mentoring Employer led technical training Independent learning and research businesspartnerships@intraining.co.uk 2

4 KEY FACTS DURATION: STANDARD GUIDELINE: 15 MONTHS MINIMUM Timeframes are flexible depending on the employer and/or the apprentice s ability to be successful on the programme. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: LEVEL 2 MATHS AND ENGLISH Equivalent to GCSE grade C or above, ideally as part of 5 GCSE A-C grades or other comparable qualifications. Apprentices without English or maths at level 2 must achieve this as part of the apprenticeship Standard. Employers have the flexibility to set their own minimum entry requirements and may want to increase their criteria. The apprentice will need to be in a relevant role to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours identified below to the appropriate level. COURSE DETAILS BUSINESS ADMINSTRATION FRAMEWORK LEVEL 2 This qualification forms the combined knowledge and competency qualification of the Pearson BTEC Intermediate apprenticeship in business level 2 to demonstrate workplace abilities and prove specific job-related tasks, whilst also providing the knowledge and understanding about the job being trained for: Transferable skills such as functional skills cover more general work-related skills, including communication, team working, problem solving and using new technologies ERR Employee Rights and Responsibilities. This teaches the learner about their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. On completion, they will receive a BTEC award in work skills for effective learning and employment PLTS Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. 5 END POINT ASSESSMENT This qualification contains both knowledge and competence units, assessed through a combination of internal and external assessments. All competence units are internally assessed. Knowledge units can be assessed through internal or external assessment. PROGRESSION On successful completion of the level 2 apprenticeship, learners can progress to level 3 business administration, assuming their role provides the opportunity to demonstrate competency at level 3.
