1 Job title Job family Marketing Co-ordinator Marketing and Audiences Proposed band B Job purpose The BBC s Marketing and Audiences (M&A) team help to shape content, commissioning strategies and editorial propositions informed by audience insight. We communicate and deliver these to audiences through compelling brand strategies, campaigns and audience engagement. Work with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Executive in the formation of brand and marketing strategy as well as the delivery and evaluation of multi-media campaigns and marketing collateral, helping to deliver creatively outstanding and high quality campaigns that are on brand, on budget and on time with consistency of visual look, brand image, identity and communications messages across all media with a particular emphasis on digital. The role will work in-house and through creative agencies, to deliver a coherent, consistent brand marketing experience for audiences. This role requires the development of close working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure creative content delivers on overarching BBC brand strategies, and with the Media Engagement and Audience teams to ensure that content is distributed through the most effective media channels and monitored and evaluated appropriately. Key responsibilities and accountabilities Campaign Delivery Develop campaign briefs to deliver strategic objectives (consumption, perception, brand). Support the delivery of high quality effective creative work that reflects brand guidelines. Work with colleagues to ensure campaigns are delivered within budgets and timeframes. Work with internal creative teams (pictures/radio cross trails), Social Media, Communications, Audiences & external agencies. Ensure all marketing and communications activity is correctly complied (reflecting BBC Brand guidelines) and is in line with BBC Editorial Guidelines. Strategy and Planning Support the planning process and execute activities within marketing plans for specific campaigns based on campaign briefs and media strategies. Work closely with BBC stakeholders to deliver projects with their full support. Contribute to regular reviews with managers and stakeholders to review campaign output vs brand guidelines. Identify risks and issues and escalate as appropriate. Relationships and Development Establish great working relationships with Audiences, Social Media, Communications & Media Engagement teams. Keep ahead of developments in the field of marketing and technology/digital trends, maintaining links with the industry and incorporating into marketing plans where possible. General Page 1 of 5

2 Drive efficiency and effectiveness in everything the BBC delivers to provide value for money for BBC licence fee payers. Knowledge, skills, training and experience Essential The Marketing Coordinator will be expected to have some marketing experience, and a good understanding of the broadcasting industry or an industry or similar scale and complexity. In this context they will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of: Assisting and managing on all aspects of a marketing campaign including evaluation A record of creative achievement Managing stakeholder relationships Ability to work on own initiative whilst seeking appropriate input A highly analytical approach, able to critically evaluate ideas and information Organised and efficient Effective written and verbal communication, with good presentation skills Able to embrace change, and make improvements to working practices. A team player, able to collaborate across organisational boundaries. Passion and a good understanding of the BBC s output. Ability to meet targets and deadlines whilst managing a wide range of concurrent activities. Desirable Experience of working in the media (either traditional media such as broadcasting or digital media) from an agency or clientside perspective. Knowledge of the BBC s organisational structure and policies such as fair trading, editorial policy & compliance.
