We re advancing gender equality through and within sport; empowering women and girls through sport and transforming the sport sector. We are looking for an Innovation Officer Girls to join the team and support us in delivering our ambition. We need someone who will be an integral part of the Innovation team that can drive forward this exciting new project over the next two years on behalf of Women in Sport. We are building a team of people who share our ambition, have a highly flexible and adaptable approach to work and want their day job to make a difference to society. An interest in women s sport will also help but you do not need to be sporty in fact we value a diversity of experiences of sport in our team. We have just moved into the House of Sport in Borough; a fantastic new office space full of other sports organisations and with great facilities. The environment offers us the flexibility to work in a hot-desking environment, alongside all the Big Office facilities of great broadband, a selection of well-equipped meeting rooms and break-out space. It suits our fast-paced, enthusiastic attitude and allows us the flexibility we need to respond to change. We re a small team, but we re doing big things. THE ROLE This is a part time (three day a week) role, fixed term contract, finishing December 2019, to deliver on our girls work. The post will focus on three key areas; Overseeing the day to day coordination of Women in Sport s involvement in Project 51(approximately two days per week), a new partnership project with Sported. Sported are one of

3 the leading Sport for Development charities in the UK, supporting over 3,000 amazing community clubs and groups that use the power of sport to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people. The aim of the Project 51 is to raise the aspirations of year old girls living in the some of the most socially deprived areas in the UK, by supporting Sported groups to increase their ability to engage and support girls in their community and deliver sport for development programmes that challenge harmful gender stereotypes. Supporting the Women in Sport Engagement Team with the delivery of the Youth Sport Trust (YST) Girls Active Awards (one day a week until October 2018). Girls Active is a partnership project between YST and ourselves, this year we have been commissioned to deliver the awards programme which will celebrate the excellent girls who are changing sport in their schools for the benefit of their peers. Support the delivery of Women in Sport Workshops (approximately one day per week, post October 2018), designed to support the sport sector and beyond to understand and translate into action, Women in Sports Insight. These are a key income generation stream for the charity and there will be associated delivery targets attached to this element of the role. Responsibilities 1. Communications and online resources development Embed the Project 51 and the role within the Women in Sport Management of the Project 51 visual identity Work with Women in Sport s Campaigns and Engagement Team to create and curate content to share about Project 51, Girls Active Awards and girls more broadly via Women in Sport s communication channels. Work with the Senior Communications Manager and design agencies to develop an online resources hub for all Project 51 stakeholders Liaise with Sported Project 51 Manager to maintain and continually update the online resources hub based on feedback from Sported member clubs, volunteers and regional managers Coordinate partner communications with Sported, Comic Relief and YST. 2. Project Coordination Day-to-day co-ordination and administration of Women in Sport Project 51 activities to include financial monitoring, supporting project monitoring and evaluations and ensuring there is excellent project delivery across Women in Sport functions

4 Develop strong working relationship with Sported project manager. Ongoing support to key stakeholders around issues related to girls. Weekly reporting on Women in Sports activity for Girls Active Awards to YST. Management of Girls Active Awards nomination and judging processes. 3. Workshop Planning and Delivery Support Senior Innovation Manager in development of workshop(s) and supporting tools based on existing Women in Sport insight and new insight gathered through Project 51. Coordinate logistics for Women in Sport workshops Support the Senior Innovation Manager in the delivery of the workshops Event administration including communications, evaluation, bookings and financial monitoring. Proactively seek new opportunities for Workshops and support the Senior Innovation Manager in generating income for the charity through these. 4. Recruit and Support Women in Sport Young Peer Influencers (Project 51) Recruit nine young women to act as peer influencers both within the localities and nationally, to encourage others to challenge constraining gender stereotypes and become more physically active. Support the peer influencers throughout the course of the project through regular communications and updates Develop opportunities for the peer influencers to develop their own skills and flourish as individuals Safely utilise content generated by these young people in Women in Sport and Project 51 communications Deliver the appropriate safeguards and ensure the wellbeing of these young people is at the heart of any activities. 5. Be an active member of the Women in Sport Team Actively participate in Women in Sport activities including team meetings and away days Embed Project 51 within Women in Sport, providing regular updates for the wider team Proactively share learnings from Project 51 with the Women in Sport team and seek out opportunities to use them to add value to other areas of the business plan. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

5 Required Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain professional relationships internally and with external partners Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce persuasive and impactful content Good project management skills, being able to deliver in a timely manner and within budget Experience of creating communication plans Experience of creating content for a number of communications channels including website, social media and Experience of assisting with the planning and/or delivery of workshops or events Working within a charitable environment, preferably for a national charity Experience of working with young people Experience of translating insight into action to produce positive outcomes High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook) Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload Ability to demonstrate initiative, create innovative solutions and work well under pressure Experience of delivering outcomes in line with a major funder agreement Strong writing skills including experience drafting newsletter content, website copy, blogs, e- mails, case studies and social media content. Digital proficiency in uploading content to social media and websites. Desirable Understanding of the political, cultural and social environments affecting equality and women's sport. Experience of working Sport Development sector and/or community sport setting Experience working with CRM systems Personal Attributes Enthusiasm, energy and willingness to meet challenging demands, ability to work to deadlines and cost limits Self-disciplined, with excellent attention to detail A creative and proactive approach to all areas of work with a can do attitude A strong team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the demands across the whole charity A personal commitment to gender equality and equal opportunities for all young people The post holder may be required to undertake such duties not included in the job description as are reasonably requested by their Line Manager, Director and/or the CEO.

6 The job description may be subject to review from time to time in consultation with the post-holder. Starting salary: Hours: Annual leave: Pension: Location: 24,000 pro rata. 21hr per week (3 days) until December 2019 fixed term. From time to time the post holder will be required to undertake commitments outside normal working hours. 25 days plus Bank Holidays pro rata (15 and 5 days respectively), Women in Sport operates an auto enrolment pension, contributing up to 5% of salary. This role will be based in our London office, Women in Sport operate a flexible working policy and consideration will be given to applicants based outside of London.
