1 SYLLABUS RETAIL ASSET PROTECTION 2012 WESTERN NEBRASKA COMMUNITY COLLEGE BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

2 I. CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Retail Asset Protection Prerequisite: None This course will introduce students to the basic aspects of asset protection in a retail environment. Students will be introduced to the functions, tasks and prerequisites that are required to efficiently protect and preserve corporate assets in a retail setting; to include both its profit and shrink reduction efforts through operational audits; enforcing merchandise protection standards; and conducting awareness training. Students will also develop an understanding of the importance of responding to basic customer and employee injuries, assisting with the implementation and execution of shrink reduction programs through monitoring loss exposures, proactive planning, identifying, investigating and apprehending individuals involved in both internal and external theft.
