Job details Job title: Salary/Grade: Reporting to: Head of Communications and Marketing 55 60k Commercial Finance irector Location: Birmingham or oncaster with regular travel across both locations The location, hours of work and duties could be varied according to the needs of the service. Part time or job share requests will be considered. 2. The National College for High Speed Rail The National College for High Speed Rail is a brand new incorporated F College that has been set up to train the next generation of the rail workforce. Covering the breadth of the rail industry from design to people experience, construction, maintenance and operations, the college will train learners from the age of 18 in Higher Apprenticeships and an HNC equivalent. Learners who have attended the National College will gain skills that enable UK employers to support the development and running of HS2 and future high speed rail projects at home and around the world. The college s vision is to pioneer technical excellence, setting new standards for collaboration and diversity in what will be a major growth industry for the UK in future years. We opened to students in September 2017, with two main hub sites in Birmingham and oncaster and a network of spokes via partner arrangements across the UK. Job purpose To establish, lead and develop the internal and external communications strategy and marketing activities for the National College for High Speed Rail. To play a leading role in the development and delivery of a dynamic marketing and communications programme that will drive learner recruitment and employer engagement whilst defining strategic partnerships across schools, the rail sector and associated supply chains. 3 media relations, public engagement, events, public affairs, and internal and external relations activity. 4. Reporting relationships Reporting directly into the Commercial Finance irector. Line management responsibility for Marketing Coordinator and vents Coodinators. 5. Accountabilities To be responsible for the development and delivery of a communications strategy and partnership development programme that will proactively engage students, employers and partner providers across the UK. To design and implement a learner communication programme that will ensure proactive and open engagement with prospective and current learners. To lead on the development of key student communications, marketing activities and channels (printed, electronic, social), while developing and disseminating expert knowledge on issues relating to the development of the College to industry partners and associated supply chains. To work collaboratively across the rail sector and associated supply chains to gain buy-in to the College and act as a conduit for the flow of information across strategic operational and commercial imperatives for the College. To take responsibility for the student recruitment strategy by establishing and developing a national network across education establishments from H to F and through schools. To work across Government (national & local), education, employers and professional bodies to ensure a strong and relevant voice for NCHSR, so that priorities are heard and considered across national and regional strategies. To lead on the growth, development, delivery and evaluation of College activities in terms of marketing, employer engagement, events, quality of provision and contract management. To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of education and employment support provision alongside an understanding of funding sources and collaborative working that could generate income for the College. To demonstrate a positive commitment to the implementation of the College s quality iversity and Inclusion Policy and to the maintenance of a culture of continuous quality improvement and innovation. ata Classification: Public 3

Able to demonstrate evidence of delivering excellent customer service. Significant experience of successfully influencing a diverse range of senior stakeholders whilst achieving stretching and challenging objectives.
