Complete the ASTTBC Professionalism in Practice and Ethics (PP&E) online study module and exam. Option B: Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) 1. Describe how, when, and where you learned each of the general competencies. 2. Provide the name and contact information for each referee that could confirm you have achieved the claimed competencies. 3. 15 Step 5: Document Technical Competencies Option A: 1. Scan and upload transcript of marks for a post-secondary education or training program applicable to your certification. Option B: Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) 1. Describe how, when, and where you learned each of the technical competencies. 2. Provide the name and contact information for each referee that could confirm you have achieved the claimed competencies. Option C: 1. Write a challenge exam to confirm the claimed competencies. Inform your referees that you are submitting your application and that ASTTBC will contact them by e- mail. 4. Pay the application fee ($ % GST) 5. Requests referees to submit references 4. Requests supervisors to confirm supervised work 5. Assigns the application to a SME file reviewer 6. 23 Step 9: Certification Board Decision 1. Certification Board (CB) makes the final decision 2. Applicant is informed of the CB decision 3. Applicant receives a certificate of registration, member number, and benefits 4. ASTTBC website is updated to include names of the successful applicants 5.
