4 Page 2 of 4 SECTION I - PURPOSE AND APPLICATION 1.01 This Directive sets forth the provisions governing the benefits provided by the Bank Group to extend reasonable assistance to staff members who engage in Short Term Assignments on or after January 1, This Directive applies to the World Bank Group. SECTION II - DEFINITIONS 1.01 In addition to the definitions in the WBG Policy on Global Mobility Support Framework, and Staff Rule 1.01, "General Provisions," for purposes of this Directive, the following definitions apply: 1.02 Home Duty Station refers to the duty station at which the staff member's salary and institutional benefits are based. It is generally also the duty station at which a staff member is assigned immediately preceding the commencement of a Short Term Assignment, and where the staff member is due to return following said Assignment Host Duty Station refers to the duty station where the staff member will be physically located for the duration of the Short Term Assignment Institutional Benefits refers to the Bank Group's basic benefits programs defined in the Staff Manual for each appointment type applicable to staff at the Home Duty Station Short Term Assignment is an assignment from one WBG organizational unit or work location to another: either (a) to satisfy Bank Group business needs; or (b) for instructional or career development purposes, for a period of more than 90 calendar days but no more than 12 months. An extension of up to 12 additional months may be granted by the responsible manager or his/her designee. SECTION III - SCOPE 01. Eligibility 1.01 This Directive applies to staff members holding Regular, Local Regular, Open-Ended, and Term appointments who temporarily relocate on Short Term Assignment to another work location. This Rule also applies to staff members holding Extended Term Consultant and Extended Term Temporary appointments who temporarily relocate on Short Term Assignment to another work location Short Term Assignments may be on an accompanied basis, with the approval of staff member's manager, at a Level of GI and above. 02. Salary &Institutional Benefits 2.01 Staff on ShortTerm Assignments will continue to receive salary and institutional benefits applicable to his/her appointment type at the Home Duty Station subject to the limitations defined in paragraphs 2.06, 2.07, and 2.08, below The elements of Mobility Support provided to Staff on Short Term Assignments are: relocation, ongoing support, locality considerations. Details of these mobility support elements are specified in the Procedure, Global Mobility Support for Short Term Assignments Staff on ST will adhere to the holiday and leave schedules defined for the Host Duty Station. No compensation will be provided for holidays missed at the Home Duty Station Staff who participate in the Medical Benefits Plan (MBP) will be subject to standard out-of-country care guidelines Staff will not be eligible for overtime payments or on-call compensation while on Short Term Assignment. Overtime hours will be compensated to eligible staff in accordance with Staff Rule 6.03 as it

5 Page 3 of 4 applies to overtime hours worked while on mission or operational travel. Limitations 2.06 The overall duration of Short Term Assignment cannot exceed two years If staff members married to each other, or who are domestic partners, are both assigned to the same duty station, only one staff member will be eligible for the benefits applicable to the assignment. The two staff members must elect which of them will receive the benefit. That election will be irrevocable during the time that both are assigned to the same duty station The Bank Group will not pay benefits under this Rule to the extent that they duplicate benefits provided by the staff member's previous employer, or the employer of the staff member's spouse or domestic partner or by any other Bank Group benefits program. SECTION IV - EXCEPTION None. SECTION V - WAIVER Unless otherwise provided in the Policy, Global Mobility Support Framework, the Issuers may grant waivers to this Directive with respect to their staff, with advice from the HR VP. SECTION VI - OTHER PROVISIONS None. SECTION VII - TEMPORARY PROVISIONS None.
