Nowadays, Menz & Gasser is a company based in Novaledo, (TN), Zona Industriale. Fiscal code and VATIN: , registered in the Ordinary Section of Company Register, in the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture of Trento, under the Economic and Administrative Repertory number TN Since its foundation, Menz & Gasser s policy and business draw inspiration from a combination of principles and ethical and operative values, which empower a good management and a continuous development of the company. Its social responsibility respects all stakeholders and the community and is in compliance with the existing legislation of all countries in which the company operates. Menz & Gasser is an innovative company that produces goods and services to satisfy the customer expectation and it is become the European reference in the production and packaging of jams, sauces, seasonings and industrial semi-processed food, sweet and savoury. To face these difficulties, Menz & Gasser finds particularly important to clearly define the values for inspiration that want to be applied. Developing, producing, and delivering healthy products, in line with the qualitative standards; grow with determination and involvement to offer clients the best. The Customer is the judge of our products and his satisfaction is our added value. 3 bring benefits not only to the company, but also to the community, in total respect of the environment. The creation of shared value is the basic principle that guides the business strategy and is a fundamental component of our success. Creating shared value means ensuring to the company a long-term success, being able to face positively global challenges. Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. [Brundtland commission, World Commission on Environment and Development, 1987] This idea guides Menz & Gasser actions towards the society and pushes the company to be active part in the cultural and social promotion of the territory and to protect the environment in which it is established. As a consequence, the society invests in energy saving, in reduction of natural resources consumption and in the production of clean and renewable energy from local sources. Finally, the company commits itself, within the respect of the rules and regulations of food safety standards IFS Food and GSFS (BRC) and ISO 14001:2015 (the latter for the establishment of Novaledo). The company has obtained the following product certifications: ORGANIC, Fairtrade, RSPO, HALAL and KOSHER, Vegan quality-vegan. Company policy- 31 July Page 3

4 General goals of the company are: achieve a positive economic result to ensure a continuous investment in new technologies; know and respect existing and future legislation and rules in safety and health, environment, food safety and ethics; promote communication and training to perform tasks in safety and assume responsibilities in safety at work, environmental protection, quality and ethics; promote a continuous improvement; pursue staff satisfaction as strategic resource, through respect and sharing of the principles of the ethical code; identify dangers and evaluate risks for food safety, staff and environment, adopt solutions and improvements to prevent accidents, diseases, pollution, complaints; analyse and discuss the results of internal audit in regular meetings and review regularly the adequacy and congruence of the politics, the integrated management system, the risk evaluation document, HACCP and the environmental aspects analysis document. 5 Food safety Policy Since ever, product quality and safety are an absolute priority for Menz & Gasser. We are sure that only with the assurance of maximum reliability and guaranteeing high safety standards, we can conquer and keep the trust our clients and Customers. For this reason, we constantly invest in advanced machines and technologies and in the development of processes, procedures and controls able to guarantee the maximum safety in all phases of the production process, as our certification witness: IFS and BRC. For us, guaranteeing the maximum food safety is a must to compete successfully in the global market. To reach these goals, Menz & Gasser: tracks the origin of raw materials; guarantees the freshness and the properties of the products even longer; carries out controls on 100% of inbound raw materials and outbound batches. These check are physical-chemical, organoleptic, microbiological and/or documental, depending on risk evaluation and product criticality; sorts products to ensure the use of high quality fruit and the elimination of any foreign particles; ensure the absence of any metal particles using a metal detector; checks the jarred products using X-rays to detect any foreign particles without modify the final product. 6 Health and safety at work Policy Health and safety at work is a commitment for everyone, which consists not only in the respect of proper and safe behaviours at work but also involves the constant creation of conditions that make that possible to happen. The Management defined an appropriate documented system to allows each employee to read and be aware of the policy conformity, safety procedures, requirements of the safety management system, individual obligations, real or possible consequences, of the own safety and the safety of others, of benefits given by an improvement of their own performance, of their own role and responsibilities to be in line with the policy and the consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.. The company policy aim is the achievement of the goal 0 accidents and wants to offer a safety workplace that prevent any accident and reduce the risks, to eliminate completely diseases and accidents, particularly in the production establishment. Goals are: reduce and eliminate any accident and disease caused by the work; provide safe and comfortable workplaces, furnished with adequate innovative technologic equipment; reduce potential and real accident causes through preventive and corrective actions; Promote the involvement of the staff in the prevention and protection from risks, in internal audit, meetings, inspections and in training for safety and health prevention. 7 Environmental Protection Policy Menz & Gasser tried to find solutions to balance its business growth with the environment protection and care. The plan of transformation from ordinary company to eco-friendly company required huge investments for the last 10 years, of more than 10 million. The company has always had a close and special relationship and connection to the territory, from the Alto-Adige, where it was firstly founded, to the Trentino that nowadays hosts its Implants. The values passed on from the lands to the inhabitants, characterise the actions of Menz & Gasser, focused on the control of the environmental impact. Since 2013 the company implemented its Environmental Management System, in line with ISO 14001, certified in the establishment of Novaledo. The goals are aimed to preserve the environment: Reduce the consumption of energy resources and natural resources; Reduce the waste production, maximize reuse and recycle through the generation and use of alternative energies; Use clean and renewable sources. 8 Social and Ethical Policy Menz & Gasser spa shares the principles and goals of the Declaration of Human Rights and of ILO (International Labour Organisation). For this reason, Menz & Gasser spa took as reference the model proposed by the code of Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI, and is ensure a continuous application and improvement. The entire staff of Menz & Gasser, with no distinction or exception, must observe and ensure the observation of these principles. Actions, operations, negotiations and behaviours must be inspired by the existing legislation and internal procedures, in particular by the company management system and procedures. The achievement of individual ethical goals is ensured through training aimed at informing all staff of the existence and the contents of the Company policy. Dialogue and participation are fundamental to share the values in the Code. Since 2010 Menz & Gasser is a Sedex member (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), to maximize and share with stakeholder ethical and social performances. Menz & Gasser: Is in line with all ethical requirements, opening its involvement to staff and business partner; Ensure that all staff acts in line with the ethical principles and behaviours towards third parties and commercial relationship; Shares the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the fundamental Conventions of ILO (International Labour Organization) and doesn t tolerate juvenile s exploitation not in its establishments, nor in the establishment of its suppliers or subcontractors; Ensure to inform all staff, to avoid any conflict of interests or any future possible conflict of interests, both in professional relationships and in personal relationships; Ensure to record any commercial operations completely and correctly, in line with the best practice in terms of precision and clarity of reports and both in external and Company policy- 31 July Page 8

9 internal level; for this reason, the staff must respect the internal procedure of Menz & Gasser in terms of control and reporting at all levels. Ensure that the management of human resources is in line with the Ethical principles and the existing legislation; in particular, the Company doesn t accept or tolerate any discrimination for sex, sexual orientation, handicaps, religion, colour, nationality, race, ethnical origin, for Staff and among Staff. Corruption, illegal favours, collusive behaviours, pressing actions both direct or through third parties, for personal advantages, career advantages for self or others are forbidden and can be sanctioned. The Company doesn t tolerate any form of corruption or concussion, blackmails, or other forms of similar payment, done or received. Working in Menz & Gasser, or representing Menz & Gasser, doesn t allow to give or receive, directly or indirectly presents, payments, material benefits, or any others from Customers, suppliers, Public officials, or third parties, even if there is no intention of getting profit or advantage. Business courtesy, such as gifts, hospitality, are allowed only when of modest value and such as to not compromise the integrity or the reputation of one of the parties, and such as to not being wrongly interpreted as aimed at getting illegal and improper advantages. At any time, these should always be authorised by a company officer. Human resources are an essential element for Menz & Gasser. The company offers to anyone the same opportunity to work and to have a career, so that anyone is treated equally, with merit criteria, with no discrimination. Menz & Gasser develops the abilities and competences of the staff, so that anyone can express his own energy and creativity, to the realisation and fulfilment of the potential. The Company expects the Staff to cooperate to maintain an environment of dignity, honour, reputation respect of everyone and to react to eliminate any outrageous or defamatory behaviour. Each Employee has the right to work in a place free of any discrimination for race, age, origin, handicap, sex, religion, language, ethnicity, political affiliation or others. Company goals, in social area: Ensure that the ethical principle are shared internally and among stakeholders; Promote social projects to support the territory; Promote fair trade products (ex: Fairtrade, RSPO, UTZ...); Sustain volunteering groups with aesthetic non-conformities product.
