It aims to provide students with skills and knowledge necessary to assess and evaluate models of strategic analysis. It aims to explore the impact of current trends in strategic management practice on organizations. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: LO1 LO2 LO3 LO4 LO5 To demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of corporate and business level strategies and inter-functional coordination. Be able to identify the requirements for fulfilling the role of the general manager/chief executive. To demonstrate an understanding and be able to apply diagnostic and analytical skills required in the corporate strategy process. To demonstrate an understanding the various competitive strategies and the strategy options for competing in global markets with an emphasis on BRIC's economies. Evaluate the use of E business in revamping the value chain and enhancing competitive advantage for an organisation.

This project work will typically involve analysis of the key tasks of strategic management, including competitive analysis and global and international strategies. The assessment is designed to ensure that a student can critically apply contemporary theories of strategic management to the business world.
