To raise new annual income of from community and individual giving sources with a minimum, net unrestricted income contribution of 100K. 2. To work with the Head of Fundraising to devise and lead the implementation of a Community and Individual Fundraising strategy designed to generate the annual budgeted income. 3. To maintain communications and build existing relationships with The Fostering Network s current network of individual and community based supporters. 4. To be creative and innovative in generating new funds from community and individual sources including creating engaging marketing collateral, writing appeals, proposals and bids and making successful presentations. 5. Support the organisation to raise standards in all aspects of fundraising by demonstrating good practice and sharing lessons learned on successful fundraising approaches with colleagues in the four nations 6. To undertake all the requirements for reporting back to funding supporters on funded progress and outcomes 7. Carry out research to inform the development and implementation of the community and individual giving strategy and provide background for appeals and campaigns 8. 2 Responsibilities: Role Specific 1. To participate in and support the development and delivery of a new Community and Individual Fundraising strategy, within agreed timescales and budgets. 2. To work with the Head of Fundraising and colleagues across the organisation to support the development of a new menu of opportunities for funding that is fully worked up, investment ready and suitable for promotion to existing and potential supporters of the charity. 3. To support the design and development of all community and individual fundraising materials including letters, appeals, s, newsletters and other marketing materials in a timely manner and within budget. 4. To develop a source of compelling and motivational case studies and organisational information to be included in fundraising materials. 5. Within the community and individual giving sector to develop a clear understanding of donors motivations for supporting the charity and to ensure that relevant fundraising material and all communications reflect these motivations. 6. To contribute to the revision of any existing materials, or the production of new ones, costeffectively and adhering to the charity s brand and design guidelines. 7. To input, maintain and extract relevant data on the charity s database accurately and consistently in order to process donations and extract data for fundraising campaigns. 8. Working with the web and communications team, provide creative input into fundraising aspects of the website and other social media such as Facebook, Twitter etc. 9. Input and update all supporter data, including financial and non-financial information, accurately and consistently in line with internal database procedures. 10. Ensure all donations are updated on the database and processed in a timely and accurate manner, maximising Gift Aid income wherever possible. General 11. To ensure all active and potential supporters of the charity receive an excellent level of supporter care, and that they understand clearly the work of The Fostering Network by maintaining and developing excellent relationships with supporters at all times. 12. To monitor annual budgets for the role, including all aspects of income and expenditure on an ongoing basis, providing regular updated forecasts to the Head of Fundraising as required. 13. Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting the role and new

3 developments in the sector. 14. To contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities. 15. To promote diversity and anti-discriminatory practice. 16. To undertake such other responsibilities as directed by the Head of Fundraising. Additional Duties: It is the nature of the Fostering Network that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises and undertake tasks that are not specifically covered in their job description. Skills/Abilities/Experience/ Qualifications/Knowledge Essential A successful track record in a fundraising capacity, generating income from community, individual or event based fundraising sources or broader fundraising experience that includes a significant element of at least one of these fundraising strands. Experience of creating and delivering fundraising activities and appeals that were successful to the value of k per annum Excellent communication and marketing skills, both verbal and written, with the presence and authority required to command attention at a senior level Strong persuasive and communication skills which result in positive outcomes and engagement with The Fostering Network and our case for support A positive can-do attitude that will enthuse prospective and current supporters, colleagues and volunteers. Excellent project management and organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet tight deadlines and budgets. Good organisational skills and experience of running a range of activities and events under pressure deadline aware. Confident use of the Internet as well as standard office IT packages e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, Integra (or other databases). Ability to proofread copy and artwork paying attention to detail Ability to work on own initiative, delivering projects to a high standard. Budget monitoring skills. Ability to self-motivate and work both independently and co-operatively Adaptable and responsive to the needs of a small to medium sized charity with clear plans and ambitions for substantial growth Desirable At least a basic knowledge of current care-related issues, practice and thinking as relevant to the work of The Fostering Network and looked after children and young people. Degree educated or equivalent.

5 Additional Information Grade The Fostering Network salary band 3 points Salary Annual Leave Probationary period Notice period Hours of work Pension Season Ticket Loan Trade Union 23,485-28,598, plus 3,368 London Weighting per annum 25 Days plus 5 Fostering Network days (pro rata). 6 calendar months. 4 working weeks in writing. One week during probationary period. 36 hours per week Optional money-purchase scheme and a salary sacrifice option is available with Aegon: Employee s contribution 6%, employer s contribution 8% of gross salary or employer s contribution 4% and employee s contribution of 3% of gross annual salary.
