2 COMPANY BACKGROUND Rusca Group is a 100% Indigenous, family owned diversified business, highly regarded in all market sectors including; civil, mining, services and construction with over 40 years experience in delivering major construction and infrastructure projects. RES delivers safe, reliable, innovative, efficient and sustainable services to all industry sectors across Australia. To achieve this, RES considers various business models, specific to the needs of the customer or the project. These models include: Direct servicing using RES infrastructure and equipment Partnering, using potentially underutilised equipment already within the sector Joint Venturing, capitalising on community infrastructure and regional businesses Using Subcontractors, providing the opportunity for specialists to specialise, whilst nurturing local relationships A combination of the above By taking this approach, RES is able to provide services targeted at required service outcomes, whilst resisting the 2

3 urge to overburden available resources already being underutilised within the industry, even if those resources belong to a competitor. This results in the client receiving the highest quality outcome, with the highest levels of compliance, at the most competitive price. Because of this approach, RES is capable of dealing with all waste streams throughout Australia including: Domestic & Household Hazardous Listed Waste Industrial Waste Problem Waste such as NORMS and Mercury It is this level of sustainable, innovative thinking that has resulted in RES being awarded the Waste Management Contract with Shell Australia for its Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas project. The Rusca Group prides itself on its ability to add tangible value to the building of sustainable community partnerships and understands that commercial activity is important to the economic and social development of each community sector. Rusca Group has a strong, genuine focus on indigenous employment and training with uncompromising standards around health, safety, quality and environmental compliance, as evident by Rusca Group s Federal Safety Commission Accreditation (FSC). FSC is a pre-requisite requirement to undertake Federal Government works with a value over $4.5 million. The Rusca Group Indigenous Employment Strategy is based upon setting employees up for success, building capacity and economic opportunity for Indigenous Australians. Rusca Group believes the key to a successful engagement strategy involves developing relationships and understanding employee s backgrounds, past experiences, preferences and cultural requirements, then designing programs which meet those requirements. Rusca Group s current Indigenous engagement is averaging 47% (as of June 2016), with some projects as high as 90%. 3

As a result, all team members have developed a respect for the land, its flora and fauna and the importance of preserving cultural sites. We continually strive to improve our environmental performance across every project site and reduce our environmental footprint. The Rusca Group Board, Executive and Management team are committed to managing our business in accordance with our adopted core beliefs and daily missions embedded into the tone and intent of our Quality, Safety and Environmental practices: Safety No Injury to Anyone Environmental No Harm to the Environment Quality No rework or Error INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT Rusca Groups Indigenous ownership provides the Group with a strong cultural understanding of the communication and mentoring pathways required to support the participation of Indigenous people in business and employment. Rusca Group provide Indigenous cross cultural awareness training Walking in Two Worlds to all senior and administrative staff to aid in understanding the cultural differences and key processes which will result in a cohesive working relationship between both Indigenous and Non- Indigenous employees, subcontractors and services providers. Additionally, Rusca Group have an internal mentoring program, which involves individuals working closely with Indigenous staff members via a one-on-one mentoring buddy program. Indigenous trainers and qualified senior staff ensure that best results are achieved with strong community engagement, strong relationships and mutual respect for the Employee, our Client and Rusca Group. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT At commencement of any project within a community, Rusca Group approach local representatives, local government agencies and businesses to ascertain availability of services along with the unique needs and requirements of the community, people and organisations within the area. The opportunities to deliver programs or assist initiatives supporting these needs, are assessed for feasibility and alignment to Rusca Groups values. Rusca approach the local employment agencies and groups to seek potential employee applicants for 6

7 projects, seek out local contractors first, before looking to providing contractors from out of region, or seek consumable provision from local retailers. RES COMMITMENT TO THE INDUSTRY Rusca Environmental Solutions commits to: Accurately measuring and reporting on all activities undertaken Ensuring legal compliance is achieved and maintained Creating true employment and development opportunities for indigenous people Encouraging source segregation where possible and practicable Ensuring driving distances are minimised and excessive idling is eliminated Through segregation and recovery, ensuring waste to landfill is minimised OUR INFRASTRUCTURE AND EQUIPMENT RES head office and warehouse holding facility is located at Pruen Road Berrimah, N.T. with secure warehouse and office space and significant open laydown area. The facility includes: Licenced Hazardous Goods Warehouse Warehouse space for recycling, sorting and storage of waste Washpad on site for all types of cleaning Double Road Train Access Close proximity to the East Arm Wharf (4.7 km) WASTE RECEPTACLES RES can provide Bins, Tanks and other containment equipment to cater for any requirement, anywhere across the country. The containment identification process is driven by a project specific Waste Services Management Plan, which is at the core of each and every project. 7
