1 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 1 of JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY To supervise, manage and coordinate all field resources and field sales personnel within a given region in such a manor as to accomplish all regional sales goals and objectives as established by the National Sales Manager. 2.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the National Sales Manager. 3.0 JOB REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Education Required Secondary School graduate with a strong background in heavy equipment sales, or sufficient knowledge and skills as may be demonstrated by resume and/or job interview Preferred Secondary School graduate with some college courses, preferably in business, some formal supervisory/management training, and a strong background in heavy equipment sales. 3.2 Experience Required Two years in an industrial equipment sales position Preferred Five years in an industrial equipment sales and marketing position with some managerial experience, a background specifically in the highway construction equipment sales and rental market, some experience working with a heavy equipment manufacturing company, some experience at working with independent manufacturer s representatives. 3.3 Skills, knowledge and abilities Must be extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of all positions (job descriptions) that are subordinate to the Regional Sales Manager, as indicated by the Corporate Administrative Organizational Overview Chart, as demonstrated by job performance, oral interview, performance evaluations, and practical evaluations. This is to be determined by the National Sales Manager.

2 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 2 of Must be extremely knowledgeable about all Solar Tech products, their application, usage, approvals, etc. as it relates to selling/ placing equipment in the field including the ability to analyze customer purchase orders and respond to government bid requests Must have the ability to analyze market conditions (economic, political, finance, weather, dealer/distributor activities, competitor activities, etc.) and provide inputs for a sales forecasting system that generates a sales plan for the company on an annual basis, with periodic updates Must have the ability to ascertain market/customer needs, desires and overall satisfaction with Solar Tech products Must be knowledgeable about all Solar Tech sales policies to include pricing, discount structure, dealer/distributor relationships, freight, terms and financing options available to customers Must be thoroughly familiar with Solar Tech products such that appropriate decisions can be made in regards to customer service type issues, warranty claims, complaints, minor technical questions, etc Must have the ability to handle on-site sales meetings, equipment demonstrations and assist representatives and/or dealers with presentations to end-users when requested/required Must have the ability to manage and motivate a sales force comprised of Direct Sales Personnel and Independent Manufacturer s Representatives to actively promote, sell, service and support all Solar Tech products through a network of dealers/distributors Must have the knowledge and ability to get Solar Tech products approved for use by Federal, State, and Local Departments of Transportations Must possess good writing and speaking skills. Must be capable of generating professional level internal and external correspondence and be capable of communicating effectively and professionally with individuals both face-to-face and over the phone.

3 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 3 of Physical requirements Must be able to work in an office environment and use a computer Must be able to travel to various locations for sales meetings/ equipment demonstrations as required. 3.5 Mental requirements Mathematical must understand pricing and discounting structures Language must be fluent in English and in native language of region assigned for international positions Mechanical must be able to demonstrate product Spatial no particular skill required. 4.0 WORKING CONDITIONS Most of the workday would be spent traveling to dealer/distributor/customer locations with or without additional sales personnel to demonstrate product. Also must be able to work in an office environment and use a computer. 5.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 5.1 Direct and supervise personnel subordinate to the Regional Sales Manager to accomplish all goals and objectives, as set forth by the National Sales Manager, and in accordance with the job descriptions for all subordinate positions. 5.2 Assist the National Sales Manager in developing a regional sales organization comprised of Direct Sales Personnel and Independent Manufacturer s Representatives to actively promote, sell, service and support SolarTech products. 5.3 Assist the National Sales Manager in establishing performance goals for sales personnel based on current and future market conditions and by area such as state, district, region and nationally. 5.4 Assist the National Sales Manager in developing, establishing and maintaining good profitable relationships with Regional Accounts and Master Dealer/Distributors.

4 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 4 of Assist with the development of the annual Trade Show Plan for the company. 5.6 Assist with the development of the annual Sales Forecast for the company. 5.7 Assist with the development of sales incentive programs for sales representatives and dealers. 5.8 Assist with the development of customer service/warranty policies. 5.9 Communicate on a regular basis with sales representatives and dealers concerning Solar Technology delivery status (lead times) and location of demo and consignment inventory Communicate with the general marketplace as to ascertain the company s position in the market place and how it s products are viewed/received in the market place. Provide feedback to the National Sales Manager Provide any and all support to sales representatives and dealers/ distributors as needed to accomplish all sales goals and objectives Assist with the development of a regional marketing plan. 6.0 AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Authority 6.1 Authority to make decisions in conjunction with the National Sales Manager, Direct Sales Personnel and Manufacturer s Representatives regarding the implementation of all established Solar Tech sales policies relating to customer status, dealer/distributor relationships, acceptance of orders, pricing, terms, freight, and scheduling of deliveries to include where deliveries are made to and from (factory stock, demo, consignment, etc.) including priorities. 6.2 Authority to make commitments for sales support meetings, equipment demonstrations, acceptance of orders, and placement of demo and consignment equipment as required to properly support Solar Tech s regional sales force such that they are able to achieve all sales goals and objectives. 5 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 5 of Responsible for managing regional sales personnel and all of their resources to insure that all regional sales goals and objectives are met as cost effectively as possible. 6.4 Responsible for keeping the National Sales Manager informed of the status of market conditions and Solar Tech s position within the market place. 6.5 Responsible for providing the National Sales Manager with routine reports as to the status of market conditions; updates to sales forecasts; location and disposition of all consignment and demonstrator equipment; performance of Direct Sales Personnel and Independent Manufacturer s Representatives, in the region, with respect to meeting established performance goals/criteria; and any other reports that the National Sales Manager may deem necessary. 6.6 Responsible for providing input to the annual Sales Forecast, with periodic updates. 6.7 Responsible for communicating with Solar Tech s outside sales force, representatives and dealers on a regular basis with information concerning Solar Technology s activities and customer feedback. 6.8 Insure that all subordinate personnel are treated fairly, equitably, with respect and that there general welfare is looked after while at the workplace. Insure that all subordinates treat each other fairly and with respect. Insure that all aspects of the Employee Manual are enforced within his/her department. 6.9 Take corrective actions as required when subordinate personnel fail to carry out duties as delineated in their respective job description or violate any standard, rule or regulation of the Employee Manual Assist the National Sales Manager in the recruiting, evaluatation, hiring, training and development of personnel as necessary to fully staff the regional sales force in accordance with the Corporate Administrative Organizational Overview chart and/or as to insure that all regional sales goals and objectives are met or exceeded Work with sales representatives to develop new dealer networks Insure that dealers and representative organizations meet established goals, and make changes where necessary, insure that Solar Technology meets overall corporate objectives.

6 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 6 of Assist with the development of appropriate marketing communication material and insure that the materials are promptly and properly distributed. 7.0 DUTIES AND TASKS 7.1 Perform tasks and/or direct personnel within the regional sales force as required to accomplish all Essential Functions and insure that all Responsibilities are accomplished. 7.2 Conduct formal inspections of finished product, from time to time, and evaluate as to the quality and how to improve quality of finished product. 7.3 Write formal performance evaluations, counsel and develop subordinates. 7.4 Assist other corporate departmental managers when required. 7.5 Train and develop all subordinate sales personnel as necessary to perform their duties and responsibilities effectively. 7.6 Represent Solar Technology in a professional manner. 7.7 Determine inefficiencies within existing systems and recommend new systems, methods or acquisition of new resources to improve the current methods. 7.8 Insure that customer purchase orders are forwarded promptly to the Inside Sales Manager for processing. 7.9 Insure that all dealer/distributor relationships and customer orders accepted by Solar Technology will result in profitable gain. 8.0 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 8.1 Sales forecasts are met or exceeded and SolarTech s profits increase. 8.2 SolarTech s customer base is expanded and market penetration is increased. 8.3 Regional Sales Force is properly supported such that the are able to meet or exceed all goals and objectives.

7 Subject: Job Description Regional Sales Manager Page 7 of All customer purchase orders are reviewed for accuracy and completeness and forwarded promptly for processing. 8.5 National Sales Manager is provided with required information accurately and in a timely manor. 8.6 Regular representative and dealer communications are maintained. 8.7 Customer feedback regarding outside sales support is positive.
