2 POSITION DESCRIPTION Reports to General Description Qualifications Partner/s in Charge To assist the Partner/s in building and managing a portfolio of clients, through the provision of high quality taxation and business advisory services. Assist the Partner/s in the management of the team including job review, workflow management, staff administration and development. University degree in relevant accounting, business or commerce discipline. Completed CA Program. Minimum 5 years post degree experience, preferably within an Australian Chartered Firm environment. Task Responsibilities Technical Functions within the role The role will include all facets of accounting, taxation and other areas which from time to time could be expected to be carried out by an employee in your position. This includes: The provision of high quality business advice in relation to: Tax minimisation and planning Retirement and estate planning Client accounting systems Superannuation including SMSF The preparation of: Business Plans and appraisals Information Memorandums for sale of businesses Business benchmarking reports Monitoring Client Management Reports for underlying business improvement opportunities. Prioritise and manage own workflow within time and budget requirements. Providing assistance and advice to clients in relation to Australian Tax Office audits. Preparing: Accounts Budgets & Cash flow Forecasts Annual Profit Estimates Income Tax Returns (ITR) Attending to the requirements of Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and Sole Traders. 3 Team Supervision / Management Direct team workflow to ensure timely and accurate completion of jobs. Review work of junior staff prior to Partner review. Proactively undertake training and development to improve the knowledge and skills of yourself and the team. Maintain an awareness of changes to legislation and industry practices. Assist Partner/s with staff administration eg. Recruitment, formal and informal performance reviews, conflict resolution, and coaching. Assist Partner/s with the development of the annual business plan. Business & Professional Development Develop business through sourcing and building client base. Identify and capture new special work. Contribute at Firm level eg. committee involvement; specialist / QA work. Contribute to the community through participation on committee's, boards, NFP's and other activities held by the firm. Contribute when requested to Partner meetings/retreats/decisions. Continue building your expertise through qualifications and/or courses Build and mentor lower staff levels Other related responsibilities Build and sustain positive relationships with partners, team members, stakeholders and clients. Work with specialist divisions with the firm. Maintain knowledge of software packages used by clients. Keep abreast of technical changes and apply current requirements to client situations.
