PURPOSE OF THE JOB Responsible for achieving of high quality deliverables of marine biodiversity conservation (habitat and species) through Seascapes and MPA-system approaches, along with the improvement of responsible fisheries practices in the Seascapes, through comprehensive collaboration approaches with policy makers and businesses, as has been targeted on the new WWF-Indonesia Strategic Plan. This will give a significant contribution to both the WWF-Global Marine targets, the Coral Triangle Initiative of the six cooperation objectives, and also to the marine and fisheries target of the Indonesian government on saving the epicentrum of the world ocean ecosystem for Coral Reefs, Sustainable Fisheries and Food Security III. JOB ILLUSTRATION With a large and growing population, future generation in Indonesia will face resource scarcities and environmental degradation not of their making (inter-generational inequity) that will increasingly lead to conflict and insecurity. Governments, privates sector and society have to respond to these challenges by sharing and curbing the demand, and addressing growing inequities if we are to meet the development needs of current and future generations, and preserve the natural bases of our life Indonesia has made a number of bold commitments to address the above challenges, such as the 2020 GHG emission reduction target; the four-year moratorium policy on licensing new concession in forest and peatland, capping a certain threshold of forest cover in three major islands (Sumatra, Kalimantan and Papua); the 2025 mixed energy policy with 25% renewable energy (increase seven-fold from current uses) and pursuing growth with equity

2 2 WWF set two key goals namely to ensure: 1. Natural assets, including biodiversity and ecosystem services in key landscapes and seascapes in Indonesia are conserved and valued effectively and sustainability used, and equitably governed, to secure long-term environmental, economic and social benefits, as the basis for well-being 2. WWF-Indonesia is recognized as a leading civil organization in promoting conservation a sustainable, equitable development by means of leveraging appropriate financial resources and partnerships, and engaging active public participation in the transformation of consumption ethics and lifestyle towards sustainability and fairness To achieve the above missions, the Marine &Fisheries is responsible of the overall management for the implementation of the WWF-Indonesia Strategic Plan through the strategic approaches and responsibilities as follows: MPA Management: - Help the Indonesian government and local communities to protect the the marine critical habitats through the establishment and effective management of the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) which include ecological connectivity among MPAs - Help conservation authorities and local communities to develop and implement sound habitat and marine species management, at both the national or seascape levels Policy and Advocacy: - Help government to minimize IUU - Collaborate with Policy & Footprint Unit in analyzing and recommending policy intervention in relation with government policies and regulations relevant to habitat and species conservation - Collaborate with Policy & Footprint Unit in strengthening community empowerment for livelihood improvement and political leverage on rights-based management - Through collaboration with the Policy & Footprint Unit, promote the responsible fisheries and best management practices with fishing industries/businesses, and improvement of fishermen capacity. Through these approaches, the WWF-Indonesia Marine & Fisheries will develop and implement the MPA for Fisheries program model to ensure the fish stock sustainability on the ground (place based) and will cooperate with Seafood Saver under (Policy & Footprint Unit) to ensure the sustainable business, job opportunity and food security on marine and fisheries sector development - Coordinate the fishery policy advocacy activities in the priority seascapes so the economic development can be as closely aligned as possible with WWF Coral Triangle Conservation Communication & Campaign Delivery: Support the Communication Unit to mobilize public in active participation or action initiation in marine conservation, including to communicate to the public, media or policy makes as advised by the Communication Unit, and to advocate sustainable and equitable development policies Partnership & Fundraising: Support Partnership Unit in public funding efforts, and with the Conservation and Conservation Science Unit, explore new program funding and maintain productive relations with existing donors Reporting: Ensure and improve quality of deliverables (including PPPMM, AWP, MPP) and ensure timely reporting and budgeting, and to attend to institutional management issues People Management: Collaborate with HGL Unit to develop capacity of the staff, Representative: Serve as the member of Mapping Action Plan (MAP) of the WWF-Global Marine to review and develop regional Coral Triangle Action Plan, Responsible Fisheries Action Plan, Payment for Ecosystem Services Action Plan, Marine Protected Areas Action Plan and Marine Tourism Action Plan

Formal Education At least hold Master Degree (S2) or equivalent 2. Experience At least 10 years having working experiences in conservation and management, and having some additional training course on marine biodiversity and fisheries management, certified as a diver, experienced succesfully a technical position in an environmental NGO, or relevant agency 3.
