The School Bedford Modern School is an Independent Co-educational Day School. There are 1200 pupils in the School from age 7 to 18. The School is governed by the Harpur Trust. The School is located on the outskirts of Bedford with comming views of the Bedfordshire countryside. It is very accessible to major road links to the main train line, London St Pancras being only 37 minutes from Bedford. The facilities are excellent: a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building, Faculties clustered throughout the School extensive impressive sports facilities. At Bedford Modern School, there is a wide varied curriculum that is responsive to the needs of pupils parents. The School offers a premium education appropriate to both boys girls where the intellectual needs of each pupil are a priority. 2 Hours: 37 per week, 52 weeks per annum (4.30 on Fridays), occasional evenings or varied hours to attend or manage events. Salary: 21,000pa Role Summary: Main duties responsibilities: Support the Alumni Relations Manager to strengthen our relationship with former students (OBMs) by developing updating the alumni database, dealing with financial aspects of alumni relations, including fundraising initiatives, organising events managing print digital communications social media Provide support to the Director of External Relations as when required Act as the first point of contact for OBMs, delivering a first class service by responding to enquiries requests for visits as necessary Responsible for keeping the alumni database updated with all relevant information pertaining to fundraising, alumni contacts other relevant information managing the process of migrating data from other sources Devise implement new ways of capturing data play an active role in helping shape the development of the database Create produce reports from the database as required Undertake the organisation of alumni events which fall under the remit of the department Responsible for developing up keeping the programme of annual OBM activities ensuring their timely completion Develop implement new initiatives for engaging the wider BMS community to support all areas of the school school life Assist with fundraising activities including the maintenance development of asset registers, the research identification of potential donors support for campaigns

3 Ensure that all donations are acknowledged in a timely manner that accurate records are kept updated accordingly, with Gift Aid collected where possible Be the primary liaison with the Charities Aid Foundation, generating regular reports for the Trust ensuring the accuracy of data in the alumni database by reconciling to the Trusts Financial system EBIS Take a lead on developing publicise a range of OBM news stories Research, collate ensure publication of Eagle News, the alumni magazine Work with other colleagues to ensure that the website is kept up to date Maintain, update develop the OBM social media platforms increase their usage Undertake specific ad-hoc projects as requested Primary liaison for Archive related enquiries, developing a close working relationship with the Archivist other volunteers Support for wider External Relations activities as when required You may also be required to undertake such other comparable duties as the Trust requires from time to time.
