1 2015 Landor Design Survey Please read the following directions carefully. If you have any questions while completing this questionnaire, please call the Survey Department at Employers Resource Association at or toll free at or for clarification. The deadline for participating in the survey is Friday, August 21. Instructions for completing the survey questionnaire: Compensation Information: Do not determine job comparability by title alone. Read each description carefully to be sure that the job content substantially matches the classification you are reporting. Exclude co-ops, interns, and trainees. Reported salaries should be in effect the first pay period of July 1, If reporting salary information for more than one employee in a single position, average the annual salary for each employee and report that figure on the survey Additional Bonus/Incentive Compensation: Using the definition below, indicate if the position being reported is eligible for additional compensation in the form of a bonus/incentive payment. Bonus/Incentive Compensation is defined as any cash payments stemming from: Lump sum payments Project, department, or company performance bonuses Group incentives Spot awards Key contributor programs Individual incentive awards Special individual recognition awards Skill/knowledge based bonuses Do not include any sort of payment based on: Salary grade Overtime Compensation Shift-pay differentials Payments stemming from retirement accounts Any form of long-term compensation Report the annual average bonus/incentive cash payment made to the employee. 2 Client Services Job Group Title: CEO/Principal Responsible for the overall operations and performance of the consultancy/agency. Requires BA/MBA or equivalent professional work experience with at least years of relevant experience. Title: Head of Client Services Ensures that employees have the skills and capacity to deliver against quality, timing and cost targets; optimizes organizational efficiency, internal relationships, quality of work product, and client results; works closely with the Head of Creative to ensure fusion between strategy & design so to bring creatively strategic and strategically creative solutions to bear at the clients; shares responsibility with the Client Director to strategically manage major accounts; and works with the account team to generate profitable net-new revenue and incremental revenue from follow-on engagements. Requires BA or equivalent professional work experience with at least years of directly relevant experience. Title: Senior Account Director Client Directors are responsible for maintaining high client satisfaction, work quality, profitability, team satisfaction, strategy, development and strengthening the client relationship. They are broadly experienced generalists with business savvy and capabilities to run and manage a business team while providing advice to their clients on solving their business problems. They are responsible for the overall quality of the relationship especially with the clients senior managers. They are skilled at identifying and securing new business opportunities with existing clients and partnering in the development business with new clients. They ensure on time, on budget, high quality deliverables. Requires BA or equivalent professional work experience with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Title: Senior Account Manager Works in conjunction with Client Director and strategy/creative/production team members to build and/or maintain a strong relationship with assigned clients/brands. Provides clients with an overall positive customer experience through strong strategic thought leadership and day-today project management. Requires BA or equivalent professional work experience with at least 6-10 years of directly relevant experience.

3 Title: Account Manager The client manager provides leadership in consultancy/agency process, sets the standard for seamless process management from project kick-off to completion, and facilitates cross-selling and quality of work between disciplines. The CM works closely with his/her Creative Services, Production, and Finance colleagues to ensure that the project/relationship is on track in terms of overall administration, timing, budget and deliverables. Requires BA or equivalent professional work experience with at least 3-6 years of directly relevant experience. Title: Junior Account Manager The Client Associate provides support to the Client Service department in schedule development, financial management, project schedule and internal team coordination, focusing on project documentation and records management. The CA will work with the project team to ensure on-time, on-budget, high quality deliverables and client satisfaction. Requires a Bachelor s degree with at least 1-3 years of direct relevant experience or relevant intern experience.

5 Creative/Digital Job Group Title: Executive Creative Director Leads the Creative Department and design team; leads projects while holding the standard of aesthetic and strategic impact. Mentors and inspires a team of graphic designers who will develop initial concepts and refined design iterations for consumer packaging and marketing/promotional projects against the set strategic brief. Is also responsible for key client liaisons and form part of the Leadership Team. Fulfills key speaking roles outside of the company. Requires a BFA (or equivalent experience) in design with a minimum of years of experience in brand packaging, identity, and/or promotional marketing collateral. Title: Creative Director Works in conjunction with and under the direction of the Executive Creative Director, to fulfill a key leadership role for the department and design team, providing project leadership while holding the standard of aesthetic and strategic impact. Mentors and inspires a team of graphic designers who develop initial concepts and refined design iterations for consumer packaging and marketing/promotional projects against the set strategic brief. Requires a BFA (or equivalent experience) in design with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in brand packaging, identity, and / or promotional marketing collateral. Title: Design Director Design Directors help lead and deliver innovative creative solutions with expertise, lead the creative process within the assigned teams, has proactive, collaborative relationships with their account management team, manage a team of designers and be able critique their work in a professional manner, monitor creative studio utilization and ensure profitability on assigned projects by adhering to established budgets and schedules in a timely manner. Design Directors also provide input for the creative approach in a pitch/proposal, will attend client briefings, and will help prepare the creative section of a presentation/proposal. Requires a BFA (or equivalent experience) in design with a minimum of 6-10 years of experience in brand packaging, identity, and/or promotional marketing. Title: Senior Designer Creates complex, original graphic design and comprehensive layout concepts, and oversees and coordinates production of materials. May also lead and guide the work of graphic designers and/or students. Requires a BFA (or equivalent experience) in design with a minimum of 4-8 years of experience in brand packaging and/or identity.

6 Title: Designer Develop initial concepts and refined design iterations for consumer packaging and marketing/promotional projects. Requires a BFA (or equivalent experience) in design with a minimum of 1-4 years of experience in packaging, identity, advertising, and/or promotional marketing. Title: Interior/Environments Designer The Interior/Environments Designer is responsible for exploration and conceptualization of design options and solutions. He/She will work as a member of a larger team in the development of client focused design solutions as well as partnering with Client Service colleagues to fulfill client needs. Various duties and responsibilities include contributing concepts for all client engagements under the direction of a manager, conducting conceptual exploration of design alternatives, participating in meetings and critiques; explaining and substantiating existing or potential design direction; refining concepts and preparing technical drawings for fabrication; preparing prototypes and designs for client presentations; partnering with fabricators to ensure design intent; maintaining current knowledge of trends and materials appropriate to project and industry needs. Requires BA in Interior/Environments Degree, with up to 4 internships in related field. Generally reports to Associate Design Director/Director of Interior/Environments. Title: Digital Producer Leads and manages digital engagements and is responsible for overall client satisfaction, quality of service, and on-time, on-budget completion of deliverables across large accounts. The go-to person on projects and connect parties involved in any digital engagement internal resources, vendors, specialists, partners, clients, etc. Has an eye for brand-led break-through digital work, be able to identify and sell through innovative ideas to the client and be a superior as well as inspirational leader on both client and internal sides of the fence. Requires extensive experience (x to x years) managing digital initiatives in online marketing, product design, branding or advertising, or a related field. Title: Interactive Graphic Specialist Work between the Design, Digital Branding and Realization teams to develop web, motion and 3D/rendered assets for high-end branding clients. This individual will spend most of their time designing motion graphics/modeling and retouching 3D objects but should be flexible enough to handle basic web development, 2D art, icons, etc. This is an entry-level position. Requires BA in Web Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Animation or related field.

7 Title: Proofreader Checks all proofs and internal reviews for accuracy of copy, color, math, art, typography, specs, folio and pagination information; prioritizes work in relation to schedule dates in order to ensure workflow is timely; analyzes copy/publication for grammar, punctuation and style errors; proofreads in multiple formats; transfers author/proofreader marks onto master proof and code alterations, reviews corrections. Requires BA in English and 3 to 5 years of experience proofreading CPG packaging SKUs and nutritional information for a design/branding agency preferred.

9 Technical Graphics Job Group Title: Group Production Director Leads the Technical Graphics (TG) team, the TG function and the TG workflow, including assigning projects, supervising the flow of work, assuring quality, and providing training and education for technical graphic designers. Serves as an advocate for TG in the overall workflow, consulting with Designers, Account Executives and clients regarding the most efficient and cost-effective methods of producing quality digital TG artwork. Interacts with each functional group to determine needs and modify processes as necessary to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable delivery of products and services to clients. Completion of 2-year commercial art/graphic art certification program from an accredited school years production experience in packaging design environment. Title: Senior Technical Graphics Manager Manages the day-to-day workflow through delegation and supervision of the Senior Technical Designers, Technical Designers and Associate Technical Designers, plus hands-on involvement. The ADD-TD possesses a strong understanding of both the creative and implementation processes to ensure continuity of creative intent. The ADD-TD maintains the overall vision for the Technical Design group as prescribed by the Realization Director, which includes process and protocol for design implementation as well as knowledge sharing and mentoring. Requires a BGA (or equivalent experience) with more than years of experience in brand packaging, identity, and/or related area. Title: Technical Graphics Designer Responsible for day-to-day support for Technical Designers and Senior Technical Designers, in building files for various deliverables on Design Realization projects. The Associate Technical Designer demonstrates beginning level skills regarding file development and production processes to ensure the delivery of design intent in all of their work. Requires a AGA or BGA (or equivalent experience) or relevant experience through internship or co-op position.

10 Title: Senior Production Artist Manages the day-to-day execution workflow through hands-on involvement as well as utilizing other team members for support. Manager possesses a strong understanding of both the creative, design and implementation processes to ensure continuity of creative intent. Maintains the overall quality plan prescribed by the Associate Director, which includes quality planning, quality assurance and quality control for all implementation projects. Requires a BGA (or equivalent experience) with a 7 years experience in related area. Title: Production Artist Responsible for day-to-day delivery of all execution files and deliverables related to a brand(s). They possess an understanding of creative, design and implementation processes to ensure continuity of creative intent. They maintain the overall implementation process as set forth by department protocol and by any client-prescribed workflow processes. Requires a BGA (or equivalent experience) with a 2-4 years experience in related area.

12 Finance/Admin/IT/HR Job Group Title: Controller/Finance Director Assists Managing Director and HR Director with the financial affairs of the organization and with preparation of financial analysis of operations. Prepares & creates reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings; provides budget & accounting solutions. Oversees accounts receivables and payables, and participates in a wide variety of special projects. Requires Bachelors degree in finance or business and 8 to 10 years of financial analysis experience. Title: Human Resource Director The Human Resource Director is a champion and implementer of change and organizational development initiatives that enhance business results, culture, and employee engagement. He/she is responsible and accountable for the transactional excellence in all areas of HR within their office. He/she performs high-level day-to-day human resource generalist duties with the assistance of an HR Coordinator/Generalist. This includes overseeing Organization Design and Development; Talent Sourcing, Acquisition, and Onboarding; Career Development; Learning and Development; Rewards and Recognition; Employee Relations and Engagement; Benefits Administration; and Employment Law. Typically requires a bachelor's degree and/or MBA in area of specialty and years of experience in the field or in a related area. Typically is PHR or SPHR certified. Reports to Managing Director or Chief Talent Officer. Title: Human Resource Recruiter Recruits, interviews, checks references, makes offers, and conducts orientation for new employees. Performs exit interviews and processes change of employee status. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to the HR Manager/Director.

13 Title: Human Resource Generalist The Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment. Requires BA degree and 5-7 years of HR experience. Reports to: HR Manager/Director. Title: Finance Manager The Finance Manager (FM) will participate in all aspects of financial management, but will largely be focused on managing the project accounting function. The FM will supervise a minimum of two project accountants and will act as a liaison between Finance and the Client Services department. The FM will focus considerable attention on client profitability while always looking to improve internal processes and controls. The FM will be expected to provide input to the month-end close process, including reporting and financial analysis. Title: Financial Analyst Assists the Finance Director with the financial affairs of the organization. Researches, gathers, collect, classifies and analyzes financial/statistical data, and participates in the preparation of reports and related documentation. Assists in processing receivables and collection issues. Requires Bachelors Degree and 5 to 8 years of hands-on accounting/financial experience. Title: Accounts Payable Sets up and maintains general ledger accounts, processes jobs, purchase orders and invoices into system. Processes accounts payable, and employee expense reports. Acts as financial liaison with vendors and clients. Prepares reports for management. Requires at least two years of experience as an Accounts Payable / Billing Manager (preferably in the service industry) and working proficiency in Excel and Word.

14 Title: Project Accounting Specialist The Project Accounting Specialist is action-oriented and makes timely decisions to ensure the accurate entry of all client billing and project information and processes receivables. The PAS collaborates with Client Services to create client invoices and maintain project financial data. Requires a Bachelors Degree in Finance and 3-5 years of financial experience. Title: Project Accountant The project accountant is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued and payments collected. Title: Information Technology Manager Lead innovator and consultant for IT needs. Tracks IT inventory, plan moves, adds, and changes, oversee projects and allocates staff resources. Maintain proper documentation and reporting methods; leads emergency response and disaster recovery as required. Supervises IT staff to provide timely support and administration of the infrastructure. Must be knowledgeable about graphic design and publishing software and requirements; requires strong communications skills. Requires Bachelors degree in Information Technology and certifications in personal computer and network technologies. Title: IT Help Desk Support Assists with execution of IT projects and provides ongoing support for personal computer workstations. Familiarity with all current office processes and a close working relationship to the IT Manager is required. Requires Associates Degree in Information Technology with a major in workstation support or network administration and Macintosh experience. Title: Network Administrator Responsible for network and shared IT resources. Assists in deploying new applications; evaluates metrics of the ongoing applications to improve efficiency. Requires knowledge of graphic design and publishing software and technical writing skills with grammar and tone sensitivity. Requires Associates Degree in Information Technology with a major in network administration and 2 or more years of experience with business/office networks with a working knowledge of Unix and/or Macintosh servers and TCP/IP networking is needed.

15 Title: Archivist Appraises and edits permanent records and historically valuable documents, participates in research activities based on archival materials, and directs safekeeping of archival documents and materials. Title: Receptionist The Receptionist is responsible for answering and monitoring phone calls, assisting with setting up meetings with the Office Team, and meeting and greeting all visitors. Title: Administrative Assistant Supports the operational staff by scheduling meetings, arranging employee travel, ordering and maintain office supplies and library items, etc. High School Education or College Degree, 2 3 years receptionist experience, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Title: Executive Assistant Performs administrative duties for executive management. Responsibilities may include screening calls, making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports and financial data, training and supervising other support staff, and customer relations. Requires strong computer and internet research skills. Also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
