Graag wys ons lede op die volgende: Kontrakte mag nie eensydig verander word om enigsins minder gunstig te wees as die kontrak waaronder u tans in diens is nie. Die SAOU sal lede bystaan in die interpretasie van kontrakte wat aangebied word en is by magte om namens u daaroor te onderhandel met die SBL. Ons beveel ten sterkste aan dat u nie u kontrak sondermeer teken, alvorens u nie ten volle vertroud is met die inligting wat daarin vervat is nie. Vir enige navrae in hierdie verband is u welkom om ons kantoor te kontak PERSONEELVOORSIENING- Die SAOU is terdeë bewus van die feit dat daar skole is wat personeel moet afstaan ingevolge die personeelvoorsiening vir 2018 wat aan skole gestuur is. The majority of the schools are currently busy with their annual budget process and as a result are also looking at SGB appointments, as well as salaries. We would like to draw members attention to the following: Please note that no existing contract may be changed unilateral to be less favourable. The SAOU is ready to assist members with the interpretation of contracts and we are there to negotiate on your behalf should you find it necessary. The SAOU strongly recommends that you take cognisance of the content of the contract before you sign it. Please feel free to contact us for any enquiry with regards to your contract STAFF ESTABLISHMENT- The SAOU is well aware that a number of schools might lose teachers according to the staff establishment for the 2018 academic year. Hierby aangeheg RAVO Kollektiewe Ooreenkoms 4 van 2016 wat die prosedure vir bo-talligverklaring verduidelik. Die SAOU doen n vriendelik, dog ernstige beroep op skoolhoofde, om eerstens die prosedures korrek te volg en tweedens alle moontlike appélprosedures en vertoë, soos voorgeskryf op die personeelvoorsieningstaat, aan die Vrystaat se Departement van Onderwys te rig ten einde die bo-tallige pos te probeer behou. Graag wys ons lede wat bo-tallig verklaar word op die feit dat uself niks hoef te doen alvorens u nie n amptelike skrywe rakende u bo-talligverklaring ontvang het vanaf die DvO nie. Sodra u sodanige skrywe ontvang, kan u ons kantoor kontak en sal ons hulp verleen om te verseker dat u die beste voordeel daaruit ontvang. The SAOU would like to raise a friendly, yet serious appeal to principals to firstly follow the procedures correctly and secondly to address all possible appeals, and representations, as prescribed on the post provisioning statement, to the Free State Department of Education in order to request the retention of staff declared in excess. To those teachers who has been declared in excess, the SAOU would like to inform you that you are not obliged to do anything until you receive an official written confirmation from the DoE. Once you have receive such written confirmation from the Department, you are advised to contact our office so that we can assist in obtaining the best possible outcome for you.

2 Ons wys ook graag daarop dat die Vrystaatse DvO heeltemal by magte is om u van u huidige skool oor te plaas na n ander skool waar u kundigheid en ervaring nodig mag wees. Uit die aard van die saak moet n voorgenome oorplasing fisies haalbaar wees, asook die konsultasie met die skool se BL eerbiedig. Indien bevind kan word dat n voorgenome oorplasing billik en regverdig is, maar n lid weier die oorplasing, is die Vrystaatse DvO by magte om ontslag of uitdiensstelling te oorweeg. Alle skole sal eers dié amptelike protokol moet volg voordat SAOU namens die instansie kan optree. -27 September COSATU STAKING- Daar is 'n groot moontlikheid dat die vakbond, SADOU gaan deelneem aan die landswye COSATU staking op 27 September 2017 Skole moet asb. voorbereid wees op die moontlike aksies! Veral skole waar SADOU lede op die personeel is, kan moontlik ontwrig word! Lede met dubbel-lidmaatskap gaan moontlik 'n effek van "no-work, no-pay" ervaar! Skoolhoofde moet asb. sorgvuldige teenwoordigheidsregisters hou! -SAOU VRYSTAAT WERWING- n DRINGENDE en ERNSTIGE beroep word op elke SAOU Vrystaat WERKPLEKVERTEENWOORDIGER gerig om te help om ten minste TWEE lede voor die einde van 2017 te werf! As ons dit kan vermag, kan ons gerieflik by die lede verby skuif! ONTHOU: Die SAOU verteenwoordig nie net Departementele onderwysers nie! Ons bedien ook SBLaanstellings, sportorganiseerders, sekretaresses, finansiële beamptes, terreinwerkers, terapeute, sielkundiges, maatskaplike werkers, privaatskool personeel, departementele amptenare asook enige persoon wat werksaam is in Suid-Afrika se onderwys sektor. SAOU laat geen lid agter nie! Familie laat niemand agter nie! We would also like to point out that the Free State DoE is completely in their right to transfer you from your current school to another school where your expertise and experience could be utilised. From the nature of the matter, a proposed transfer must be physically feasible and the consultation with the school's BL is honoured. If a proposed transfer is reasonable and fair and the member refuses to be transferred, the Free State's DOE is in a position to consider dismissal or termination of service. All schools should follow this official protocol before SAOU can act on behalf of the institution. -27 September COSATU STRIKE- There is a big possibility that the Union, SADTU will take part in a COSATU strike on 27 September 2017 Schools have to be prepared for this possible situation! Schools with SADTU members could be affected!! Members with double membership could experience the effect of "no-work, no-pay"! Principals should keep thorough attendance registers!! -SAOU FREE STATE RECRUITMENT- An URGENT and SERIOUS request is directed to every SAOU Free State WORKPLACE REPRESENTATIVE to recruit at least TWO members before the end of 2017! If we can achieve this, we will be able to exceed members very soon! REMEMBER: The SAOU does not only represent Departmental teachers! We also serve SGB appointments, sports assistants, secretaries, financial officers, site workers, therapists, psychologists, social workers, private school staff, departmental officials and any person employed in the South African education sector.
