2 Is this true for the World of International Risk Management? On September 22, 2014, 180 delegates comprising risk managers, insurance markets, Aon specialists from over 40 countries and specialists from tax and accounting firms gathered at the Grange City Hotel in London for the Aon International Symposium 2014, hosted by the Aon Global Client Network. Our goal is to provide a truly collaborative forum for networking, knowledgesharing and thought-leadership in the international space said Chris Baudouin, CEO AGCN. We want to connect with our knowledge-partners including clients, markets, brokers and specialists to take a look at the current and future state of our international risk needs. This shifting economy results in vast changes to connectivity, data and technology which in turn pose new challenges for the collective roles of brokers, clients, and markets, regardless of industry or geography. Looking Ahead in the International Risk Management World... in a more integrated global economy, historical and geographical divisions are becoming increasingly irrelevant creating a more level playing field for countries, companies and individuals. Economically and socially, the world is becoming flat. Tom Friedman, Author The World is Flat Anticipation is a key business skill said Andrew Tunnicliffe, COO Aon Broking London. As we look forward at the business horizon there are some certainties we can consider. Technology will change; comparative advantage will prevail; scope and complexity of regulations and risks will evolve and emerge and our roles will change. We want to work together to assess the result of these shifts on our world on our world of international risk management and answer that question Is the flattening economy and social world also flattening our international risk management world, creating a more level playing field, or is it in fact increasing the complexity of managing cross-border risks?. As a forum not provided elsewhere in the marketplace, Aon is filling a void in the international space, and clients and markets such as Davy Elliott from AES Corporation seem to agree. This is the most worthwhile risk management conference of the year. We want to work together to assess the result of this changing world on our world of international risk management and answer that question... Andrew Tunnicliffe, COO Aon Broking London

5 Survey results 100% would recommend this event to their colleagues Overall satisfaction 8% Very Neutral Dissatisfied 92% liked the collaborative Client, Broker, Market forum 92% The most worthwhile risk management conference of the year. Davy Elliott, AES Corporation The power of networking and collaboration During the afternoon of September 23, senior leads from 40 countries of the Aon Global Client Network hosted a knowledge exchange forum. This is always a popular part of the Agenda said Clyde Ebanks, COO AGCN. By bringing our network to London, we are creating a unique networking opportunity where clients come together and meet one-on-one with the local Aon experts, markets and other knowledge-partners, enhancing relationships, understanding and personal connectivity. These are opportunities that are impossible without this Symposium to provide the forum and avoid extensive travel by all parties. As a new session for 2014, Aon added a collaborative resource forum to give delegates direct access to a widespread set of resources from the industry, including market partners, insurance premium tax experts and tools, captive management and support teams, travel consultants and tools and cross-practice, cross-geography specialists. Brian Kirwan, Allianz said there needs to be a mentality shift for markets, we are a service organization not an insurance organization, so we need have a slight change in thinking and plug into the Aon operations more as a team to get a better understanding of the client and how things work for them. The attendees provided a truly international group, all of whom were wholly engaged in learning best practice from the Symposium. It was a very thought provoking Symposium. Mike Reeves, Crawford and Company Th is Symposium is a unique opportunity for a few clients and insurers to share and discuss issues and solutions directly from inside Aon s multinational department, in a very friendly, open-minded, constructive and practical atmosphere. Philippe Vienot, BNP Paribas Aon specialists from over 40 countries

6 Risk management and roles of the future Three Risk Managers responsible for managing complex, cross-border risks for large multinational firms shared their opinions, experiences and concerns as they look head to the future challenges for them in their roles. Although from very different industries and with different risk strategies, all three agreed that the existing challenges and a common set of issues drive their need for strong knowledge partnerships to support them in their roles and in meeting their goals, both professional and personal. Benji Dyches from Jabil said In my company we were historically viewed as the insurance department. Part of our goal is to set a strategic plan for how to address the risks Jabil has going forward. Aon is partnering with us on this by providing us with a strategic manager, not an insurance salesperson, we don t need that, but a strategic thinker to help us move forward appropriately. In talking with these clients over the last two days, it is clear that the expectation of the client is that their broker must be more risk management oriented than transactional-thinking to be able to support them in their roles said moderator Darlington Munhuwani. This is a board-level issue - the role we play in our firms is more that of a Chief Risk Officer said Kelly O Shea from Xylem. I think that there needs to be a change in how Risk Managers are viewed, we need to elevate our roles in our firms to be more strategic, as quasi-operational, quasi-legal, quasi-hr, quasi-finance who else touches so many areas of the firm? This kind of forum is going to be increasingly important because the world, I believe, is flattening Lisa Kerr, Henry Schein Market-Partner Sponsors Client Panel Discussion Moderator: Darlington Munhuwani Panel: Lisa Kerr, Henry Schein, Kelly O Shea, Xylem Benji Dyches, Jabil Circuit
