6 Start compensation cycle Open plan for top line managers
7 Log in as a compensation administrator Gary Comp Admin GCA Gary Comp Admin When new cycle has been created and new budget is finalized, the compensation administrator will kick off the plan
8 Start the batch process for the current cycle The comp administrator will start the cycle for the entire eligible population
9 Open the plan for executives Since the default access level is configured to "no access" by default, the comp manager will need to open the plan to "updates allowed" for execs
10 Open plan for subordinate managers
11 Log into the cloud as a top level manager When the compensation plan has been opened to top level managers, they can navigate to the workforce compensation area and determine which subordinate managers should have access
12 Navigate to the Approvals area Top level managers can change the access level for their subordinate managers by clicking the approvals icon from the workforce compensation landing page.
13 Update access level for subordinate managers When managers have been granted access to the annual compensation plan, they can choose the access level for their subordinate managers
14 Begin planning as a mid level manager
15 Log into the cloud as a mid level manager Mid-level managers will be notified with an application notification and with an when their access level was updated
16 Navigate to the plan as a mid level manager When the access level has been updated to updates allowed, mid level managers will be able to access the plan and begin allocating compensation
17 Open the annual compensation plan Managers can access the annual compensation plan by clicking the compensation icon from the workforce compensation landing page.
18 Line managers update their worksheet If managers are planning for multiple levels of direct reports, they can select the appropriate hierarchy from the dropdown Managers have read/write access to certain columns, but not others
19 Error type alerts can be configured Alerts are configured to ensure managers update the required information before submitting their worksheet to the next level Alerts and notifications can vary from an information type to an error preventing save type
20 Informational notifications can be configured A large text box is configured to allow managers to provide a thorough reason for promotion Column color, width, and font can be personalized within the worksheet so managers can easily identify which columns they need to take action on
21 Update promotions proposed by mid level managers
22 Log into the cloud as a compensation manager Gary Comp Admin GCA Gary Comp Admin The compensation team can periodically check all of the promotions that were successfully proposed. They'll collaborate with upper management on appropriate positions
23 View the alert summary administration report Real time reports are available for the compensation team to monitor before, during, and after the compensation process
24 View all successfully proposed promotions The comp team can view all employees that need to be reviewed for promotion. They can then begin the process of working with upper management on confirming the new job and wage The comp team can view all alerts that have been triggered
25 Proxy as a manager who proposed a promotion A compensation manager with the appropriate person security can proxy as a manager who had a subordinate employee with a proposed promotion Proxying as a line manager will allow the comp manager to access the manager's worksheet as if they were the line manager
26 View the audit trail for promotion To confirm the actual manager that proposed the promotion for the direct or indirect report, the comp manager can view the audit trail for the employee by right-clicking the employee's name
27 Confirm which manager proposed the promotion Filters are available to isolate the component, person, and updated date The updated by column for promotion shows the manager that proposed the promotion. The updated date shows when the proposal occurred
28 Complete the promotion for the employee The comp team will meet with upper management to discuss whether or not the suggested job and new salary are appropriate for the employee based on the reason provided. If approved, the comp team can use their read/write access to update the New Job value with the approved job

30 Build a cost of living model
31 Create a cost of living adjustment model The comp team will create a cost of living model based on location, and allocate a percentage of the employee's eligible salary Modeling is an easy way for the comp team or line managers to give mass allocations
32 Input properties for adjustment model Up to 4 criterion can be selected when building a model When the model is built, the comp team can allocate percentages based on the cost of living in each location
33 Review cost of living adjustment model Preview the model to see employee level allocations, then apply the model
34 Validate that the COLA model was applied After the model is applied, the comp team can proxy as a manager and confirm the adjustments were correctly applied
35 View real time analytics for the organization
36 Proxy as a worksheet manager From the workforce compensation landing page, line managers and compensation managers can click the view reports icon to view various analytics
37 View compensation analytics by component
38 View compensation analytics in total Line managers and compensation managers can view statistics by a specific component, or the compensation in total A variety of filters can be configured so managers can slice the data
39 Transfer the data to HR records
40 Post salary increase as individual components When all managers' worksheets have been submitted and approved, the compensation administrator will run the process to transfer all allocations and promotions to the HR record
41 Temporarily exclude employees on LOA The administrator can exclude employees currently on LOA, and post salary increases with new effective dates when they return from LOA
42 Navigate to employee's salary history Confirm the salary increases were successfully posted from the batch process
43 Confirm salary increase by component All salary increases have been successfully posted as separate components
44 Setup for the salary basis Personalize the salary increase types
