1 TRAFFIC CONTROLLER Refresher INFORMATION SHEET Training provided by Evolution Training To renew your traffic controller accreditation in New South Wales, you will be required to successfully complete the Roads and Maritime Services approved training program and demonstrate current competence as a traffic controller. Your Traffic Controller accreditation must be renewed every three (3) years. DATE TIME VENUE COST See below for all dates 8.00am 12.00pm (Morning tea will be provided) Master Builders Skills Centre, 1 Iron Knob Street, Fyshwick, 2609 $280 (member after rebate) $370* (member), $350* (non-member after rebate) $440* (non-member) *This does not include the cost of the card (Payment is required seven (7) days prior to the course) Up to 70% of the course cost may be refundable to eligible applicants through the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (TFA). For eligible learners the TFA rebate is factored into the pricing structure. REQUIREMENTS Current Traffic Controller accreditation OHS Induction Card (White Card) Safety boots and appropriate clothing (sleeved shirt) Confirmation of practical experience such as: Traffic control job sheets/dockets Letter of reference from employer Completed third party validation (attached) Statement of relevant work experience OHS Induction Card (White Card) Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to be completed prior to confirmation of your enrolment (Documentation must be brought along to the course) CONTENT The program takes approximately 4 hours and consists of two parts: Knowledge: Classroom based instruction Assessment: Written theoretical test, Simulated exercise ASSESSMENT If student does not pass the theoretical and simulated assessment, they will be provided with an alternative assessment. If the student fails a second time, they will be deemed not yet competent and will be required to reregister for the training. CERTIFICATION - for existing RMS cardholders Learners who do not hold the units of competency on successful completion of the course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIICOM201D - Communicate in the workplace RIIWHS201D - Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures RIIWHS205D - Control traffic with a slow bat Learners who hold the units of competency on successful completion of the course will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS205D - Control traffic with stop-slow bat. Successful participants will be required to lodge an application for an RMS issued photo competency card (3 year expiration). Registrations cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the commencement of the training being delivered or failure to notify of non-attendance will result in the full training fee being charged. Substitutions will be accepted. MBA Group Training reserves the right to cancel any training initiative or to postpone it to an alternative date. All registered participants affected by such postponement will receive a full refund or be offered the opportunity to transfer to the next available training course.
