3 The ECCO Global Trainee Programmes ECCO offers a fantastic opportunity for young talent across the globe to join our 2-year or 3-year programme. Our trainees can expect to gain a strong, overall understanding of the ECCO Group through developing valuable product understanding and knowledge, a strong network with ties to subsidiaries and a profound knowledge of the ECCO Value Chain, creating potential for further development within the ECCO Group. Trainees are assigned career tracks from the beginning of the programme, depending on the business needs. ECCO trainees will experience hands-on exposure in one of our production units across Europe and Asia, retail rotations in our European ECCO stores, participation at a Leather Crash Course, build on their academic profiles and job rotations across the globe that will stretch and challenge them at all times. 6 FROM OUR FORMER & CURRENT TRAINEES I had some expectations, but what I learned really exceeded my vision. Looking at it from my professional career perspective, it makes me feel really excited. Be proactive, listen to what others are saying and react to it. You have to be able to take responsibility. And don t be afraid to voice your opinion. The opportunity to see all the different perspectives of the company and of course to experience so many different cultures. I would also say the values of the organisation were very important to me. First of all you need to be hard working, you need to be open minded. You need to have a very get on with it attitude. You also need to be critical of your surroundings. You need to be good at socializing, networking. I saw a lot of great opportunities when I read about the trainee programme. One thing was the flexibility within the tasks and the combination of having a hands-on experience mixed with studying. The cultural aspect of working with different nationalities all over the world. Also the on job training which allows you to be exposed to real work experience. You need to be patient, that s for sure. You need to want to learn. You need to be able to navigate the political aspects of the world and the business. If you have been positive and open-minded, I think there s a world of opportunities. For the trainee programme at ECCO, you need to be open-minded, you need to have drive. You need to have a willingness to learn, willingness to be hands on. Be dynamic, not static. Be open to cultures and travel.
