As you will see the quality of the programming hasn t been a key area for the Entertainment Team, up to now that is, but that s where you fit in! This role is about transforming our existing provision and injecting it with new life. You ll be working in a new way, bringing all our entertainment venues together and developing the team to help you do that. You ll also be collaborating with the Marketing Team to attract new audiences for the new work you ll be bringing in. All positions are subject to a DBS Check appropriate to the role. 1. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of the Link4Life. This includes leading and managing on Link4Life s entertainment and event programme to include developing and monitoring a wide and varied programme of activities covering professional, community, cultural and sporting genres to grow audiences and participation and to increase earned income. 2. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES a) Develop an ongoing programme of entertainment and events that appeals to and attracts a wide range of audiences: To develop and implement a business and transformation plan, ensuring this remains fit for purpose; To programme activities covering a broad range of genre, ensuring a balance of professional, community, cultural and sporting whilst ensuring they are commensurate, connected, ambitious and high quality; To establish and maintain management structures and performance targets appropriate to the service and individual requirements, balanced against financial priorities; Page 4 of 9

5 To act as principal liaison with customers and stakeholders including promoters, hirers and funders. b) Develop opportunities to maximise financial viability and sustainability: To set and monitor the budget throughout the financial year, including producing monthly reports for Management and Board of Trustees as required; To effectively and efficiently management budgets, including supervision of budget holders; To plan long term growth and investment strategies for the Service, seeking growth opportunities; To efficiently manage the bar operations, maximising earned income; To work in partnership with the Marketing Team, to develop and promote events and build audiences. c) Oversee the day to day running of the venues: To be the creative, operational and managerial lead for the Entertainments and Events Team; To lead, motivate and inspire all employees in order to create a positive working environment, with every employee fully aware of and contributing to the business objectives; To ensure adherence to company policy and practices as regards staff management, financial management and operational management including audits in accordance with legislative requirements; To establish, monitor and review targets and key performance indicators; To attend or ensure appropriate representatives attend external meetings as required; To manage key internal and external partnerships and contracted services, including the café operator, Artifax and Spektrix; To be Designated Premises Supervisor; To be a Designated Safeguarding Officer. 3. 6 a) Data Quality - To ensure that Link4Life policy and procedures in respect of Data Quality are adhered to consistently and at all times in respect of any data collected or used in the planning and delivery of services. b) Equality & Diversity - To work in accordance with Link4Life policy and procedures relating to the promotion of equality and diversity and to ensure that these are effectively and pro-actively applied in the delivery of all facilities and services. c) Health, Safety and Welfare - To be responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of self and other persons who may be affected by job holder s actions or omissions whilst at work. Additionally, be responsible for maintaining and implementing the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and for the execution of any duties and responsibilities attached to the job within the company s health and safety policy and procedures. A high standard of personal hygiene and personal presentation is required at all times d) Performance Management - To promote and practice a performance management culture within all facilities and services, including the setting and achieving of team and individual performance targets and the implementation of robust monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems. e) Relationships - To promote positive working relationships with all internal and external parties. f) Training and Development - To participate in any training initiatives in relation to the duties of the post and ensure that personal qualifications are kept valid via attendance on training as provided by the service as reasonably practicable.
