SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (FOR MYANMAR NATIONAL ONLY) ROLE PROFILE TITLE: Project Coordinator (Nutrition) TEAM/PROGRAMME: Child Poverty/ Programme Implementation LOCATION: Pauktaw Township, Rakhine State Number of Position: 1 GRADE: C-1 CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: Under the supervision and coordination of the Program manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the successful management and implementation of the Nutrition component of a livelihoods program implemented in Sittwe and Pauktaw Townships, in villages and IDP camps. The program aims at reducing stunting for children 0-23 months through improved nutrition security and ability to invest in nutrition. The Project Coordinator for Nutrition will plan and implement the activities related to the improvement of nutrition status, through Social and Behaviour Change (SBCC) Platform and engage with basic health staff and volunteers to support Government s IMAM roll out through effective mobilization at the community level. The position holder will also have the responsibility to manage performance and develop capacity of project staffs. This position will closely work with the Program Manager and other Project Coordinators of the program. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Programme Manager (Nutrition) Direct Reports: 3 Project Officers (Nutrition) Budget Responsibilities: Authorize expenditure up to 3,000 USD

2 Travel: Frequent (over (12) days per month) Role Dimensions: Regular contact of detailed explanations of policy, regulations, programs, services and representation of SCI at the local level or with mid-level counterparts. KEA AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Program Delivery: Nutrition-Social Behavior Change Together with the PM and Technical Advisors, design and implement the Nutrition scheme for community/villages. In coordination with the PM and other Project Coordinators, prepare the sector s detailed implementation plan and other planning tools, as well as support budget analysis and forecasting. Coordinate the baseline/endline surveys at the field level to engage with community and other stakeholder, Responsible for daily coordination and implementation of the nutrition component of the program as well as their monitoring at village and community level. Supports the team and community volunteers in identifying malnourished children and referral according to the IMAM guideline, ensuring accountability and transparency at all levels, in line with donor and organization s procedures and regulation. Supervise Project Officers in effective community mobilization for SBCC activities with mother support, father support group, other influential person and social change through mass media in special events such as the promotion events and global hand washing days and capacity building sessions of volunteers and the facilitation of the community-based project activities. Support Project Officers in the supervision and training of community level nutrition volunteers and peer mothers and fathers by using supportive supervision approach. Collaborate with PM and TAs in the development of the Nutrition-SBCC training tools and materials in strengthening capacity of staffs and volunteers. Coordinate with other team members to make sure Project Officers are support in their work with the Mother to Mother Support Groups and Father to Father Support groups in the project area, based on the SBCC strategy. Coordinate with basic health staffs and volunteers to support IMAM roll out by early identification and referral of SAM cases through effective mobilization at village level. Design and implement community sensitization on nutrition component at village level, to ensure the project targets those with greater needs, based on the defined criteria, and in a transparent, accepted and self-led manner. Ensure community/village members involve at all steps of the project, through consultations, decision making and monitoring of the program, enhancing the necessity for the community to take ownership on the process. Supervise and support the Project Officers, Project Assistants and Community Development Facilitators in their daily work. Coordinate closely with the Financial and Business Development scheme Project Coordinators and team to ensure complementarity and value for money of all interventions conducted at community level. Coordinate and facilitate capacity building workshops, awareness sessions, review meetings and training sessions for a variety of stakeholders. Coordinate and monitor effectively and efficiently the implementation of the Nutrition component at field level. The position holder will be expected to spend the majority of her/his time in the villages and communities of intervention, together with the Project Officers.. Conduct monitoring visits to villages/communities; collect data according to monitoring plan defined with the Program Manager; report accordingly. Be proactive in coordinating and sharing information with other stakeholders in the area which present similar focus, approach or target groups.

3 Other program delivery tasks As part of a multisector project, the position holder will be expected to work closely with all thematic sectors of this project, coordinating all activities with the other PC and providing support and information whenever necessary. Support the MEAL team in the identification, establishment and roll-out of an effective Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) in each location of intervention. Ensure staff are assisted and equipped to regularly monitor their work collecting quantitative and qualitative data for both process and impact. Ensure the information and data required by the MEAL team and MEAL plan is collected by the team, of quality and accessible by the MEAL team. Actively involve in the baseline/endline surveys (including Tat Lan II endline), the Barrier analysis, and data entry of project activities. Assist in producing resource materials, deliver training, make presentations and organize events/other activities to ensure that SCI develops and maintains sound monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment in business and financial development. Assist and facilitate capacity building workshops, awareness sessions, review meetings and training sessions for sound implementation of the program. Prepare all documentation required for the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment required for the Nutrition activities, in line with SCI procedures and lead time and ensure the update of the Procurement Plan. Grant Management Assist the Program Manager in managing the budget, ensuring that transactions comply with Save the Children s and the donors financial and compliance policies. Ensure that project resources for the Nutrition component are used optimally and that expenditures comply with internal controls set by the Finance/Grants Units. Make sure that any particular issue, information or change on context, project or resources and which requires informing the donor is informed in written to the Program Manager. Communications and Coordination Ensure that project related information is relayed to the Program Manager and other Project Coordinators as well as the team. Contribute to the preparation of internal and external reporting. Assist Program Manager in maintaining program documents and coordinating with all departments. Ensure good communication and coordination between the team members working in the different contexts of intervention of the project. Capacity Building and Technical Support Identify key learning opportunities and processes from the project and proactively design and organise opportunities to share key lessons to inform project design. Team Management and Development Ensure the effective use of the Performance Management System including the establishment of clear, measureable objectives, ongoing feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations.

4 Support project staffs through coaching and other developmental activities. Ensure all team members have the opportunity to build greater capacities in line with their expectations. Any other duties and tasks assigned by the supervisor, including participation to emergency responses in and outside duty area. Integrity: Honest, encourages openness and transparency; demonstrates highest levels of integrity Always acts in the best interests of children QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential Bachelor s degree, and preferably post-graduate university degree, in health, public health and nutrition or equivalent experience. Demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge in antenatal care, IYCF, IMAM project. At least four years management experience of development and/or emergency programmes in nutrition and health. Good written and spoken English. Good knowledge of project management cycle. Good people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas. Ability to work well in a team and train other staffs and demonstrate experience efficiently managing a team.

5 Very good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Experience in conducting needs assessments, project design, monitoring, and evaluation. Demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge of community development; working with children and on children s issues. Very good people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas. Ability and willingness to travel remote area as assigned. Desirable Experience with multi-sectorial programming, or experience managing programs in several different sectors. Experience working with community groups in humanitarian, post-conflict and recovery development context. Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children s aims, values and principles. Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy. Prior experience with Save The Children Experience working with children and on children s issues.
