Older Youth Application Deadline All forms are due by February 1, Return to: OSU Extension Tuscarawas County, th Street SW, New Philadelphia, OH Office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.; locked Dropbox available 24/7. (Note: Applications received via Dropbox after 4 p.m. on February 1 will be marked as received February 2 and will not be considered; no exceptions.) Interest Area Criteria The following criteria will be used for all applicants regardless of interest area: neatness; quality of responses provided; activities reported; references; leadership experiences; and evidence of responsibility. Additional criteria for returning Camp Counselors only: interactions with campers and adult camp staff. Additional criteria for both returning Camp Counselors and Junior Fair Board: attitude and enthusiasm; past performance; ability to meet expectations/fulfill responsibilities. 1. Interview Camp Counselor Information All counselors must complete a minimum of 12 hours of counselor preparation training as required by the Ohio 4-H Program. Any counselor not having at least 12 hours of documented training prior to leaving for camp will not be permitted to serve as a counselor. A Camp Counselor organizational meeting will be held on March 11 from 6:30 8:30 p.m. Meetings will be March 25; April 8, 22; May 6, 20; June 3, 10. Additional meetings and training dates will be discussed along with other counselor details and responsibilities. Camp is June 16-19, There will be a counselor wrap-up meeting on July 8. All first-year counselors are required to attend and returning counselors are highly encouraged to attend - a residential training at Camp Piedmont scheduled for May 31 June 1. Individuals with a valid conflict made known during the time of application may attend alternate residential trainings pending pre-approval. The alternate training dates are to be determined.

2 Junior Fair Board Information A Junior Fair Board organizational meeting will be held on May 23 from 6:30 8:00 p.m. at the Junior Fair Board Office on the fairgrounds. Meetings will be June 6; July 1; August 12, 21, 28; September 4, 11, 12, 13, H Interview Judging week is July Tuscarawas County Fair check-in is September 14 and 15. Fair week is September Interviews New for 2019: Regardless of whether you are a new applicant or a returner, you must have a 15 minute one-on-one interview. As an applicant, it is your responsibility to schedule an appointment. Call the Extension office during business hours (Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.) to schedule your appointment. Interview criteria for all applicants will consist of: poise; quality of responses; evidence of experience; and the ability to communicate effectively. Date Received at Extension Office Return this application along with the Older Youth Coversheet, Self-Assessment, and two Reference Forms on or before February 1 to the Tuscarawas County Extension office in order to be considered for selection. NO LATE OR INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY REASON.
