1 Chamber of Commerce Roles Description Executive Office Adam Legge President & CEO Adam is the President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber. He is responsible for strategic direction of the organization, team coordination and performance management and board engagement. He spends much of his time working with the team on strategic and brand issues and opportunities, ensuring that the organization is performing at its optimal level, and working with the board to execute on our strategic plans and ensuring strong governance. He also spends much time meeting with members, potential members and stakeholders in the community. Emma Covenden Executive Assistant The Executive Assistant supports the President s office and the Board of Directors by scheduling, preparing, and distributing agendas and supporting material to committees and board of directors meeting. Emma is also responsible for taking minutes, developing positive relationships with co-workers and peers to facilitate the work flow and access to senior leaders in external organizations. Emma also makes herself available, whenever possible, to all departments of the Chamber to assist with events, planning or other Chamber happenings. Marketing & Communications Scott Crockatt - Director of Marketing and Communications. Scott leads all member and external communications, Chamber marketing strategy and the Chamber events department. This includes the weekly newsletter econnecting, the Chamber website, social media presence, membership directory, external advertising, public affairs, media relations and promotional pieces, as well as many others. Scott also leads the events department, which conceptualizes, builds, markets and executes all Chamber marquee events each year. These include political speaking events, business-series, workshops, roundtables and high-profile speaker events. Annie Buck Event Manager Annie manages the planning and execution of the Chamber s 35+ marquee events as well as associated roundtables and workshops. The Event Manager designs and implements strategic visions in-line with the events strategy, and is responsible for meeting event budgets. This begins with researching, envisioning and planning events, and leads all the way through to logistics, operations and ensuring that high quality events are delivered. Other responsibilities include; managing event budgets, liaising with VIPs, speakers and clients, managing relationships with external contractors and venues, ensuring sponsorship fulfillment, and work jointly with other Calgary Chamber departments and leadership staff.

2 Aaron Kroontje Digital Marketing Manager Aaron s role is to ensure the Calgary Chamber is a national leader for marketing and communicates in the digital space; driving member value and Chamber revenue. He translates overall marketing and events plans into the Chamber s various digital channels such as the Calgary Chamber website, social media and marketing. He is responsible for ensuring that the Chamber s digital activities enhance member value, satisfaction and understanding, while constantly improving the Chamber s digital processes and tools. Aaron acts as a marketing strategist interfacing with other departments and developing marketing plans for projects inside and outside of the digital space. He leads the Chamber s digital advertising sales efforts and works to increase online purchase behavior for events, membership, document certification, room rental and all other Chamber revenue streams. Digital Communications Coordinator - Position Open The Digital Communications Coordinator lives and breathes the Chamber s digital presence. The role is responsible for the day-to-day content and engagement across the Calgary Chamber s social media accounts as well as necessary website updates and the construction of e-marketing documents such as the Chamber s newsletters econnecting and Influence. They also ensure digital member benefits are being delivered and tracked as prescribed by membership level and regularly scan relevant digital channels for opportunities to recognize members or surface salient content to the leadership team. Joya Sauder - Marketing Coordinator Joya works as the point-person for marketing support to all Chamber departments and on all major projects. She develops marketing strategies, writes marketing language and executes marketing plans. She manages ongoing marketing projects including Business in Calgary magazine, event marketing promotion, weekly marketing messages and developing all Chamber collateral materials. Joya also is the project manager for the Chamber s annual marketing communications projects including the belong advertising campaigns, Small Business Week, Chamber annual report and policy reports. Rachel Bowman - Events Coordinator Rachel ensures through pre-planning and flawless execution the Chamber s events are delivered at top quality. Her role entails the full event lifecycle from planning event logistics to coordinate onsite events. This includes speaker engagement and prep, scriptwriting, uploading events to the CRM, managing ticket purchasing and registration, coordinating with sponsorship and membership for table assignments, booking venues, ordering catering and answering any event related inquiries. Accounting & Administration Michael Andriescu Director of Finance & Administration Michael is responsible for all the financial and administrative aspects of the Chamber. He is an accountant by background and makes sure all our dollars and cents are spent wisely and collected on time. He also oversees the administrative stuff for the organization including IT, much of the day-to-day HR matters and record keeping. He is a big guy with a deep voice but has a big heart.

3 Aigerim Myrzabekova Accountant Aigerim processes all the transactions related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, creates invoices for Membership, Sponsorship, Advertising, prepared month-end reconciliation, deposits all the cheques and cash, and prints cheques to pay the vendors. Natalie Smith Office Coordinator Natalie provides membership, event, and office support. She performs the administrative work for the Membership department ensuring that our database remains accurate and clean. Anything that needs to be mailed, filed or copied Natalie can help and this includes the annual membership certificates and decals, welcome letters, and thank you letters to the membership. Natalie juggles document certification for members, managing our internal event space and at the same time maintains and organizes our daily office environment. Business Development & Sponsorship Kim Koss VP Business Development & Sponsorship Kim Koss is responsible for maintaining Chamber relations with Calgary's leading business and community organizations who support and work with the Chamber. He is directly responsible for the Chamber's efforts to attract and maintain corporate sponsorships which enable the Chamber to host the valuable business event programs which leads the connections and discussions by the Calgary business community on the major issues, business and political challenges being faced in the current economic climate. In his sponsorship role the Chamber maintains many long term annual sponsorship agreements with many of Calgary s largest companies including Agrium, ATB, Altalink, ATCO, Cenovus, Encana, Enmax and RGO. Paige Ross - Sponsorship Coordinator As sponsorship coordinator, Paige helps obtain and place sponsors into relevant roles for all Calgary Chamber events and programs. Paige looks after the day to day sponsorship administration and ensures the execution of each sponsorship agreement is executed properly and in a timely matter. Membership Services Rebecca Wood Director of Membership Services Rebecca is responsible for growing the membership and ensuring that once a company becomes a Chamber member that the services and products they receive continue to be of value. As the company grows, we want their membership to continue to grow with the Chamber and contribute to the health of the business climate in Calgary. Membership engagement and retention is critical and so Rebecca is always looking for new opportunities to attract members. Rebecca has a sales background with a customer service focus, and believes in the Chamber philosophy that the member is at the centre of all we do. Christi Dos Santos Membership Engagement Specialist Christi helps members gain more from their membership by further understanding their business needs and challenges and identify which Chamber benefit can assist and how. She assists members in connecting with each other at events and through direct referrals. Christi oversees the delivery of member services events including the 715

4 Breakfast, Business After Hours, CEO Lunches, Member Welcome Reception, and Chamber 101 workshops. She is able to work with members to recommend which events will suit their needs. An important part of Christi s role is to contacting members regularily which she uses an opportunity to build a stronger Chamber-member relationship. Teri Lang - Membership Services Representative (New Membership Sales) Teri handles new membership inquiries to the Chamber and actively prospects for new members within the Calgary business community. Teri builds connections by being an ambassador of the Chamber at business events and trade shows in the city. The channels utilized to source new prospects include reaching out to attendees and sponsors of Chamber events, cold calling targeted businesses according to the sales plan, and communicating with former members of the Chamber about revisiting their membership. Building a warm rapport with prospects is a key component to shape synergistic relationships in order to recommend the appropriate membership level based on business needs. Rachel Peer & Adrian Nagel Membership Services Representative (Inside Sales) Rachel and Adrian keep a primary focus on existing members, rightsizing memberships and upselling the different membership levels based on members needs. They also capitalize on new opportunities for new member sales through introductions and building connections with the business community. Using digital tools such as LinkedIn and the member only group, Chamber events, industry events, and sales activities such as cold calling, both Rachel and Adrian build the membership internally and externally. Radeeka Ratnayake Membership Services Coordinator Radeeka supports the entire membership team with administration as well as engagement activities, delivery and outreach to the community and our members. She is a wizard in our CRM system Weblink and can generate reports, lists, and membership information with a few clicks of a mouse. Radeeka shares the delivery of the 715 breakfast networking and supports the team at Chamber events by hosting tables, registration, and connecting with members. Policy & Government Affairs Justin Smith Director of Policy, Research and Government Relations As Director of Policy, Research and Government Relations, Justin is responsible for developing the Chamber s various positions on leading public policy issues affecting our members. Through in-depth research and policy analysis, Justin and his team provide valuable perspective on the issues that matter most to member businesses, and craft policy recommendations that seek to enhance the stability, productivity and competitiveness of the Calgary business community. Justin is also responsible for advocating on behalf of Chamber members before all levels of government, including municipal, provincial and federal government officials, and maintaining strong relationships with all public sector stakeholders. Iqbal Ahmed Policy Analyst Iqbal tracks important and emerging public policy issues that affect the Chamber s membership. Analysts conduct the majority of the research and information gathering on policy issues, and support the Chamber s government relations activities by helping develop solutions that are supportive of Calgary s business community.

5 The policy analyst does this through the creation of a variety of outputs including in-depth research reports, information briefs, and policy resolutions that are submitted the Alberta Chamber of Commerce and Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Policy Analysts also serve as the primary coordinators of the Chamber s standing policy committees. Lauren Babuik Policy Analyst As a policy analyst with the Policy, Research, and Government Relations team, Lauren conducts research and analysis on important public policy issues that affect the Chamber s membership. By completing various policy research reports, resolutions, and information briefs, Lauren provides support to the Chamber s positions on policy issues that most impact business and provides insight on the development of tangible solutions and recommendations that will ensure a thriving business community in Calgary. To comprehensively understand the policy issues that are most important to Chamber members, Lauren interacts closely with the Chamber s standing policy committees, serving as a lead analyst and coordinator for the committee. Michelle Berg HR Advisor The HR Advisor is responsible for providing proactive, strategic and tactical HR services to the Chamber team including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, policy, performance management, compensation and termination issues. The HR Advisor leads various employee engagement initiatives and provides regular coaching and mentoring to the leadership team.
