COURSE OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES: This curse is designed t prvide an analysis f current human resurce management issues, emphasizing their impact n an rganizatin s success. Upn cmpletin f this curse, yu shuld be able t: Identify current issues facing human resurce management. Develp strategies fr dealing with these issues. Examine emerging issues in human resurce management and assess their ptential impact n rganizatins. Develp skills in slving human resurce prblems. Develp an understanding f the cmplex nature f human resurce management prblems. COURSE FORMAT: This curse is entirely Web-based. Yu will find the majrity f the infrmatin and materials that yu will need t cmplete the curse in this syllabus and n the D2L Brightspace curse management website. Be sure t lg nt D2L Brightspace and check yur university regularly t see what wrk yu are required t d. PwerPint slides will be available fr each f the Ne et al. bk chapters, under the Curse Materials tab (lcated under the main Cntent tab). We will als utilize the Discussins ptin frm the Activities drpdwn menu n D2L Brightspace. I will pst tpics and/r questins t generate discussin amng yu and yur classmates. Yu are encuraged t respnd t yur classmates questins and cmments. This is the main way in which everyne (regardless f yur lcatin, time zne, etc.) can actively participate in this curse. ALL written assignments will be psted n D2L Brightspace, under the Curse Materials tab. Yu shuld submit all f yur wrk in a frmat that is cmpatible with Micrsft Office and pst it in the apprpriate Assignment Submissin Flder (under Activities and then Assignments ) when it is due. 3 Assignments: 1. Submitted assignments must be crrectly frmatted and free f grammatical and stylistic errrs. Students in MGT 592 shuld have at least sme skill with sftware fr wrd prcessing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, and presentatins, and with web brwsers and search engines. Spelling and grammatical errrs will detract frm yur grade! 2. Assignments must be turned in n time. Assignments are due at the date and time listed. All wrk and assignments fr the entire curse will be available n the first day f class. Start wrking n each assignment as sn as yu pssibly can and make sure that yu have the all assignments submitted by the specified due dates. Yu MUST turn in all written assignments ON TIME. Yu will have until 11:30 PM CST t submit the wrk that is listed in the far right, All Assignments Due clumn f the curse schedule prvided n the fifth page f this syllabus. I will accept late assignments. Hwever, there will be a significant penalty. Fr each day that yur assignment is late, I will deduct 10 POINTS frm yur grade. If yu d nt meet the 11:30 PM deadline (even by ne r tw minutes), I will deduct 10 pints. If yu d nt turn the assignment in by 11:30 PM CST the next day, I will deduct an additinal 10 pints, and s n. Saturdays and Sundays cunt twards the ttal days late. 3. Assignments must be cmplete. Yu must cmplete and submit all cmpnents at the specified due date and time t receive credit fr the assignment. Back-ups Are Required: Yu are required t back up all yur assignments n a disk that can be submitted t me upn my request.
