A relevant post-graduate degree at least Masters level with demonstrated ability to lead a significant multi-methods research study. 3. Extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in statistical analysis and scientific writing, including experience cleaning and analysing a dataset from a clinical service. 4. Proficiency in STATA, SPSS or R, as well as MS Word and Excel. 5. Capable of planning and independently conducting multivariable longitudinal analysis such as survival analyses. 6. Knowledge of structural equation modelling or latent class analysis would be desirable. 7. Ability to present clearly in verbal and written form statistical results for non-statisticians and nonresearchers. 8. High level communication and interpersonal skills to work with researchers, clinicians, operational and support staff. 9. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods. Context and Scope HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that exists to improve quality of life for people in need. We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services. HammondCare seeks to embed evidence based best practice in its services and we provide these services through home care, sub-acute hospitals and residential aged care. About the Dementia Centre The Dementia Centre was founded by HammondCare in 1995 as an impartial resource and provider of research and expertise to the aged and dementia care community. This is key to HammondCare's commitment to excellence in dementia care. Summary of the Role The role of Senior Data Analyst (Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) Model Project) works within the Mission and of HammondCare to drive the development and delivery of key aspects of the BPSD Model Project and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. The key outcome for this Project will be to develop a new assessment tool to assess interventions, outcomes and service levels for people with BPSD and the results informing future policy development and service planning for Special Dementia Care Units (SDCUs). The Senior Data Analyst (BPSD Model Project) will work closely with the HammondCare Research Project Coordinator, UNSW s Scientia Professor of Psychiatry, the University of Sydney s Associate Professor in Ageing and Health and selected members of the Project Steering Committee to ensure the delivery of key data-related project milestones. Central to this role will be an ability to communicate and collaborate well with the research and clinical personnel of the Dementia Centre, and other project stakeholders. The Senior Data Analyst will focus on cleaning and analysing a dataset from a clinical service. The successful candidate will need to be proficient in statistical analyses including multivariate longitudinal modelling and survival analyses, and the use of statistical software packages (e.g. STATA, SPSS, R). Knowledge of structural equation modelling and latent class analysis would be desirable.

3 The essence of this role: Support the collection and analysis of data on how the model is currently used, utilise excellent written communication in articulating dementia-related behaviours, and co-writing of projectspecific publications and presentations. Emphasis on cleaning and analysing a dataset from a clinical service, which will require proficiency in statistical techniques and software packages (e.g. STATA, SPSS, R), and skill in planning and independently conducting multivariate longitudinal analysis such as survival analyses. Knowledge of structural equation modelling or latent class analysis would be desirable. Demonstrated ability to learn new statistical techniques and software (e.g. Mplus) with minimal support. Ability to present clearly in verbal and written form statistical results for non-statisticians and non-researchers. Excellent communication skills in working with different stakeholder perspectives. Experience or interest in working with older people, and/or people living with dementia. Deliver comprehensive documentation of systems and processes involved in the collection, analysis and management of project data. Provide fortnightly project status reports to the Research Project Coordinator and communicate project status effectively to key project team stakeholders including the Steering Committee. 2.0 Project Analysis Understand and apply appropriate and ethical and Diagnosis research methods to deliver and complete the project.
