2 Announcement of the third tender under the EPSILON programme 2 In early April, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic announced the third tender under the Programme for the Support of Applied Research and Experimental Development (the EPSILON programme). The aim of the programme is to support projects the results of which have a high potential for quick application in new products, production methods and services. Support is given primarily to projects having industrial application and entailing the use of new technologies and new materials in the power industry, the environment and transport, and those that can be reasonably expected to attain at least one of the following types of results: patent, prototype, functional sample, pilot operation, proven technology, software, industrial design/utility model or certified methodology/procedure/specialised map with technical content. Applicants in the tender can include enterprises, research organisations and individuals performing business activities. The maximum extent of support per project is 60% of total eligible costs. The maximum amount of financial aid per project for the entire duration of work is set at EUR 3 million under the exchange rate of the European Central Bank prevailing as of the date of the announcement of the tender. The tender period runs from 5 April 2017 to 17 May 2017.

3 3 On 7 April 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade published the updated timetable of OP EIC. Due to the technical rendition related to the relevant integrated territorial investment (ITI) and the distribution of the announced calls over time in relation to the requirements of individual ITI bearers, the calls for ITI will be announced separately for each agglomeration/metropolitan area. The table below shows the updated timetable for selected ITI calls. 4 4 The Labour Office of the Czech Republic renewed the acceptance of applications for the second call of the Support of Specialised Employee Education. The aim of the project is to help employers in providing specialised education to the current as well as newly hired employees in order for them to be able to flexibly respond to the changing situation and conditions on the market. The project addresses the issue of the discrepancy between the skills and qualifications offered and required as well as the issue of employers unwillingness to invest into the education of their employees. The support is provided in the form of contributions to employers for the education of their employees and the refunding of salaries during the training period. The project is intended for employers, non-governmental non-profit organisations and individuals (self-employed), with the exception of those with registered offices in the territory of the capital city of Prague (however, branches outside Prague can participate). Applications are accepted from 20 March The call has one round and an allocation of CZK 1 billion. New applications have to be filed using the electronic form at
