You will be working within a small team that are responsible for a wide variety of websites and internal applications. No two projects are the same in either size or complexity. Your project list will vary from complete online self-service systems that are fully integrated into multiple third-party backend applications through to building small campaign websites. You will be familiar with the.net Framework and will have good skills in C# and SQL. We can offer a generous holiday allowance, a good work/home balance and flexi time. RPORTING RLATIONSHIP JOB PURPOS: POST NO PR COMPTNCY FRAMWORK Bespoke eveloper (ASP.NT) Grade O 3215 The postholder will report to the Web Manager To be responsible for the development of integrated transactional and interactive functionality for the Council s website(s) by developing bespoke functionality and working with existing products (such as the Council s eforms system) at an advanced level. To support the provision of the Council s online services, including the publication of content on website and social media channels Level 1, expected competencies for all employees Key Responsibilities 1. Provide support with the configuration and development of the Council s website content management system (UMBRACO). 2. Provide support with the management and presentation of content on the Council s websites and Intranet, including the development of website templates as needed. 3. Provide support with the management and maintenance of the Council s social media profiles, including integrations with other online services where appropriate. 4. To act as a champion for web based working solutions and service delivery to both internal and external customers. 5. To have an awareness of web related developments with regards to content and transactional services, providing regular updates to the Web Manager and other audiences as needed. 6. To provide support at an advanced level in the development of the Council s eforms including the development of complex eforms and the management of integrations with other interdependent systems. 7. To support the standardisation, configuration and governance of the Council s eforms. 8. To liaise with suppliers and contractors who provide web related services to the Council. 9. Perform the configuration and release of designated systems, ensuring that practical controls are followed to maximise quality and availability of production systems. 15. Work with Council services to determine requirements and propose pragmatic solutions which add business value. 16. 8 Conditions of Service General Conditions of service will vary from service to service. However, there are some general points to cover. Conditions of service generally are those contained in the appropriate National Joint Council Schemes but have been supplemented in a number of areas by locally agreed conditions. The relevant Handbooks are available for reference in all departments. Office Hours The normal working week is currently 37 hours. Council offices are generally open to the public from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (4.30p.m on Friday). The majority of office staff are able to take part in the Councils flexible working hours scheme. lsewhere, fixed hours or shift working may be operated according to the needs of a particular service. Annual Leave The basic annual leave entitlement is 31 days plus 8 public holidays. Youth & Community Workers entitlement is 30 days plus 8 public holidays, increasing to 35 days with 5 years continuous service. Sick Pay Most employees are covered by the provisions of the nationally agreed sick pay schemes which allow periods of absence on half pay and full pay according to length of service. Pension You will automatically be entered into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) unless you choose to opt out. This is a contributory pension scheme and meets Government standards for automatic enrolment. If you do not opt out within three months of joining the LGPS, you will not be eligible to receive a refund of your contributions but will instead be given deferred benefits within the Scheme. If you decide to opt out of the Scheme your employment, earnings and age will be monitored in line with automatic enrolment guidelines. Medical xamination Before commencing your employment, you will need to complete a medical questionnaire and may be subject to a medical examination. Politically Restricted Posts The Local Government and Housing Act 1989, as amended by the Local emocracy, conomic evelopment and Construction Act 2009 designate certain posts as politically restricted. If this is the case it will be detailed on the job description and means that you would be disqualified from being a member of a Local Authority, the House of Commons or of the uropean Parliament.
