Position Reports to Process Operator Lactose Shift Leader Company Synlait Milk Limited Date: May 2017 Location Purpose Health & Safety 1028 Heslerton Road, Dunsandel, Canterbury Direct control of operating the plant to supply and dissolve lactose for use in standardising milk to make value added products. The Process Operator will have responsibility for the operation of the highly automated process and monitor key performance indicators such as composition, rate, yield, quality and on-product time. Ownership for cleaning and the sanitation of agreed areas of plant. Keeping up-to-date with information on changes to your health and safety responsibilities. Having regular conversation with your leader in regards to health and safety. Participate in the continuing improvement of health and safety. Ensuring all health and safety training is completed. Attending and participating in team meetings where health and safety information is relayed. Ensuring all hazards are reported on time and any actions taken to improve health and safety are completed as assigned. Participate in the development of rehabilitation plans if required and ensuring activities are completed as documented. Following all applicable safe work behaviours Page 1 of 6

Participate in the development of new systems and processes required for the Dunsandel site. Quality Ultimate responsibility on a shift by shift basis for the manufacture of correct amounts of product at lowest cost while meeting quality standards. Operating the process equipment to the requirements of Company procedures. Ensuring that the plant and equipment is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet Standard Operating Procedures. Page 2 of 6

3 KEY PERFORMANCE PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS AREAS Planning Plan run lengths, quantities and cleaning of process equipment (both internal and external) Create and maintain performance monitoring charts for different aspects of the process as required. Problem Solving Be the first line of problem solving and maintenance fault finding in the lactose process. Customer Service Achieve customer requirements for product composition, quality, specification and delivery. Projects Perform maintenance-type functions over shutdown periods. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Process Leader or Production Manager/s which may include a wide range of tasks over the winter period such as maintenance, housekeeping and documentation tasks Relationship Management Team Work Compliance / Risk Management Professional & Personal Development Key Relationships Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across the business Develop and maintain effective global relationships with key external stakeholders, industry contacts, and agencies. Liaise with wet mix process operators, packaging/palletising operators, energy centre staff, packaging staff, maintenance staff and warehouse staff to ensure the smooth running of the shift. Communicate effectively with shift colleagues and production management to ensure the long term goals and targets are met. Work with all others in the team to contribute to team and group outcomes. Demonstrate active support of Synlait Milk values and exhibit behaviours that are consistent with them. Keep up-to-date with business developments in the company and gain an understanding of the company s vision, mission and strategy. Comply with all relevant company policies and delegations Comply with all Quality Assurance / ISO systems Identify and remedy any health and safety hazards and report any incidents Undertake identified personal training / development. Remain abreast of current industry related trends, practices and disciplines and undertake regular updates in either competency training or changes in law as required. Keep up-to-date and demonstrate awareness of relevant legislation and best practice. Build networks with relevant organisations, professionals and associations.
