It is time for our annual legislative update! Please join us on April 12 th for the next PAHRA meeting. 4 Piedmont Area Human Resource Association SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS Meeting Sponsor Cost: $150 per meeting (Sponsors may sponsor one meeting per quarter.) Features: Up to five minutes to speak and provide company information at the beginning of one monthly PAHRA meeting. Audio-visual equipment is provided at no extra fee. Company logo and description in the PAHRA newsletter during month of sponsorship. Company logo and description on the PAHRA website during month of sponsorship. Company recognition in electronic meeting invite twice during month of sponsorship. Provide company materials (brochures, business cards, handouts, etc.) at attendee seats and PAHRA information table. May provide door prizes, giveaways and other items with company logo at meeting, provided the purpose is not for future solicitation. One lunch is included at no cost in meeting sponsorship. Please note: Sponsorship is intended for promotional information of a company solely during a monthly meeting time. PAHRA does not allow solicitation of its members/attendees at any other time by sponsors. General information: PAHRA meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the James C. Self Conference Center at Piedmont Technical College (date and venue subject to change). Meetings are generally held 11:45 am 1:15 pm; however, two meetings per year are longer programs that may begin earlier than 11:45 am. 6 NEW HR LIBRARY! Piedmont Area Human Resource Association is accepting donations of books and videos related to Human Resources to help start an HR library for the HR community. Help provide this new service to HR professionals in our area by bringing any used (or new) books and videos that you have found helpful in the HR field to the next PAHRA meeting. As we build the library catalog, books and videos may be requested for loan and delivered at the monthly meetings. The list of books currently available below will be updated as the library grows. 7 United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program sponsored by United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties is an IRS promoted program that involves volunteers helping community members prepare their annual tax returns. The VITA Program assists those with moderate incomes with the ultimate goal of promoting financial stability. IRS certified and trained volunteer tax preparers explain the many special credits and deductions and how many people may claim them on their tax returns. Volunteers will complete and electronically file taxpayers returns all for FREE. These volunteers are people just like you and I college students, homemakers, retirees, members of community organizations, and businessmen and women. Volunteer Tax Preparers receive free instruction and all training and certification materials necessary to prepare basic income tax returns. Just bring all documentation required to prepare your tax return, and the volunteers will do the rest. Income criteria: Adjusted gross income not to exceed $49,000 for taxpayer (individual or married filing jointly) This year s fixed site has been established: Site United Center for Community Care (United Way) 929 Phoenix Street Greenwood, SC Tuesday & Thursday: 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., Wednesday: 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. There will be several roving sites (one-day tax events) during this year s tax season within Greenwood and Abbeville Counties.
