Role Purpose: The Technical Systems Assessor is responsible for providing leadership to the Quality Assessors team. The role will provide assurance to management and external compliance representatives that the quality control and food safety programmes are implemented effectively and are performing as required to meet production, food safety, customer, OMAR and regulatory requirements at the Belfast site. Key Relationships External Internal MPI AsureQuality Other Regulatory Agencies Plant Manager, Regional Plant Manager and other Supervisors Quality Assurance and Technical staff Site support staff (Technical, Engineering and H & S) Dunedin / Christchurch / Hastings production, marketing and support staff Position Description Key Accountabilities Health, Safety and Wellbeing Technical and Quality Auditing Key Activities / Decision Areas Take personal responsibility for your own health and safety and the health and safety of others in your workplace. Encourage a safety and health culture through your personal participation in company health and safety initiatives, including hazard identification, training, reporting accidents and near misses, injury prevention, health assessment and rehabilitation processes, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Follow all company and legislative health and safety policies, practices and procedures. Health, Safety and Wellbeing of your team Coaching and Leadership of the quality team. Management and implementation of the Plant internal audit programme including:

2 - Quality systems - Health and Safety management system - Environmental Management system - PBV Audits - Documentation audits - Corrective action reviews Customer quality audits achieve an acceptable outcome. Supervisors immediately advised of any recurring minor, major or critical defects Quality systems auditing to ensure PBV targets are achieved. 90% of audits completed within 10 days of due date. Ensure appropriate records are produced, maintained and retained as required Where an issue impacts on product disposition the Compliance and/or Processing Manager notified. Plant Management notified immediately if an issue requires production to be delayed or stopped. Food Safety compliance Food safety programme is maintained to meet company, customer and regulatory requirements Assist in the management of plant HACCP systems. Corrective and preventative actions are implemented to ensure food safety objectives are not compromised. Client and external audits (incl. MPI VA) - 100% of client audits with an acceptable outcome - Less than 6 Key Issues - Less than 24 Key topics Technical administration and training support Appropriate staff trained in Quality Control and QA Auditing to ensure that there is succession or contingency resources available Technical and administration support provided to the Technical Manager as required Documentation and Information Systems Accurately complete all required production, process and personnel records. Work closely with others to ensure cross functional support throughout the business. Manages the workflow of the team to ensure the desired goals / outputs are achieved to the quality standard required. Ensures all staff are assimilated into our business, ensuring new staff receive a company induction and orientation. 2

3 Monitors staff performance and provides regular feedback. Influence As the subject matter expert, take a lead role within your area of responsibility to achieve the desired outputs. Projects Participate in various projects as assigned within scope. Assist with projects to ensure the successful introduction of change and improvement. Complete assigned projects within timeframes and costs. Information Systems Assist with the development, implementation and review of policy, guidelines and procedures as required. Assess and recommend on-going improvements to procedures and systems. Reporting Ensure the compliance of company reporting standards, by: Providing accurate and timely reporting as required Proposing strategies with clear indications of costs and benefits and reporting on the achievement of these. To complete such tasks and projects in a competent and timely manner in accordance with directions Role Dimensions Technical Skills & Knowledge Hold a tertiary qualification and/or have received training in, or relevant experience in, a similar role. Broad-based experience or a sound knowledge of all mandatory quality and compliance requirements for a modern meat plant with a good understanding of their application. Excellent knowledge of HACCP principles and application. A demonstrated knowledge of the legal and legislative compliance conditions and issues applicable to the meat industry. Computer literacy - proficiency in the use of Microsoft (Word, Excel). Demonstrates excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. A high standard of English. The role requires a level of diplomacy as it often balances between the demands of commercial risk and compliance constraints. Accurate record keeping is vital to the function of this position Where it is considered that the response to an issue has been unsatisfactory, plant management must be notified. 3
