2 M.I.M.A. Designation Part A Instructions for completing the application (Please read before completing the application) Program Criteria 1. Applicant must have: i) An A.I.M.A. designation and at least five (5) of the past seven (7) years of related work experience in the field of Real Property Assessment/Valuation or ii) Related University degree, College diploma, or equivalent education/competencies and seven (7) of the last nine (9) years experience in the field of Real Property Assessment/Valuation or iii) Equivalent combination of education, experience, A.I.M.A. competencies and ten (10) years experience in the field of Real Property Assessment/Valuation. 2. The applicant work experience and related competencies experience must be confirmed by the employer and by an Accredited M.I.M.A. member and/or by a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC). Application Process 1. The application for the Accelerated Designation Program must be completed online and received by the Institute of Municipal Assessors (IMA) by January 31 st, All components of the application must be complete. An incomplete application will not be accepted/processed. 3. An Application Number will automatically be assigned to your application. If you are unable to complete the application in one sitting, use the Application Number to sign in and continue from where you left off. 4. The application consists of 2 parts, (A and B). Part A consists of the applicant contact information and academic information. Part B consists of the applicant related work history and competencies. 5. Upon completion of the application, the identified employer/supervisor and professional reference, will be notified to log in and complete the review of Part B of the application (Part A is not accessible through this log in). Note: Candidates who are self-employed may use two Accredited Professionals: Either M.I.M.A. members and/or LSUC members. 6. Upon completion of Step 5, the IMA will automatically be notified of the application. 7. The IMA office will review the application and the applicant will be notified of the result by February 28 th, Instructions for the next step will be provided. 9. The Frequently Asked Questions section at may assist with any questions regarding the completion of the application. An A.I.M.A. designation and at least 5 of the last 7 years experience in the field of Real Property Assessment/Valuation. ii. A university degree, college diploma, or equivalent education/competencies and 7 of last 9 years experience in the field of Real Property Assessment/Valuation. iii. Equivalent combination of education, experience, A.I.M.A. competencies and 10 years experience in the field of Real Property Assessment/Valuation.
