The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world s largest HR professional society, representing 300,000 members in more than 165 countries. For nearly seven decades, the Society has been the leading provider of resources serving the needs of HR professionals and advancing the practice of human resource management. SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates.

It s taught me more about being a professional and more about myself. Fun Facts: I really like pizza, no I REALLY like pizza. I rock climb Half Dome once a year. I play water polo.

15 Game GUESS WHO? Each person will have a character on their back (no peeking). You may only ask a person with questions involving a YES/NO response. You may only ask one person one question and can move on to another person until you have figured out who you are! Ex. Am I fictional character? / Do I play a role in movies? / Am I an animal?

18 Point System Purpose: Allows members to take full advantage of the opportunities has to offer. How it Works: 1 point = RSVP & attended event ½ point = attended event BUT did NOT RSVP -1 point = RSVP & did NOT attend event Top 3 members with the most points will receive a prize at the end of the semester!

22 Mentorship Program Purpose: Connect and learn from Professionals. Focus on areas in communication skills, leadership development, decision making, career progression, influencing others, building confidence, branding yourself, expanding your network, resume building, interviewing tips, and maintaining a professional relationship. Details: Applications will be sent out, if interested apply and fill out a survey to match you with a professional. APPLICATION DATE OPEN: Monday, September 10 APPLICATION DATE CLOSED: Friday, September 28 This is a chance for you to connect with Professionals and learn from them while building a lasting relationship!

23 Buddy Program Purpose:The goal is for you to be more involved with SHRM, learn more about the officer role(s) you may be interested in, and have a supportive buddy for your academic journey here at SJSU. Details:Once you are matched with an officer, they will reach out and get connected with you. You will also have the opportunity of shadowing at one of our team meetings.
