3 Introduction ReadyResults.net can be used to enter, store, score, and report on the SELP/SSLP assessments. There are four prerequisites: 1. Your ReadyResults.net license must cover the SELP/SSLP component. 2. Test specifications for each grade and time of year you want to record must exist in your ReadyResults database. 3. You must have permission from your ReadyResults.net administrator to enter scores. 4. The students for whom you wish to enter scores must be assigned to a teacher in ReadyResults.net. This document explains how you enter SELP/SSLP scores and what you need to know for creating reports on a SELP/SSLP test. You will be entering raw scores only. ReadyResults.net reports the raw scores and provides Scaled Scores and Performance Levels based on those raw scores. To Begin After scoring your students SELP and SSLP tests, you can enter the raw scores online into Ready Results. If you are not already logged into ReadyResults.net, go to to log into the system. 1. Enter your User Name and Password (provided by your administrator). Remember, passwords are case-sensitive. 2. Click Login. Entering SELP/SSLP Scores To enter SELP/SSLP scores: 1. Click on Utilities in the top menu bar. The main ReadyResults Utilities Console page opens. 2. Click on the Test Management menu and choose Enter Scores or Responses. The first Enter Scores or Responses page appears. All rights reserved. Page 1 of 7

4 3. Use the drop-down lists to make selections. Select a SELP/SSLP test as the Test Specification. Notice that the list of tests has a Season (Fall or Spring) and a Purpose for the Test (Placement or Post-Test). Make sure you select the correct configuration for your data entry. A note about the Teacher Type: If you select Current Location from the Teacher Type dropdown list, the list of students will be made up of all the students in one grade in the school you selected. If you select one of the other Teacher Types, your Select Class drop-down list will have one or more teachers from which to choose. 4. Click Next to see the second Enter Scores or Responses page. The names of the students assigned to the selected teacher are listed. All rights reserved. Page 2 of 7

5 5. If a student s Date of Test (the DOT on reports) is different from the default date that is shown, click in the Test Date field. Click on the correct date in the pop-up calendar. 6. Enter the raw scores in the boxes to the right of each student's ID. Tips: Make sure the Num Lock key is on and use the number keypad on your keyboard. Use the [Enter] or [Tab] keys to move from one score to the next. Hover over a score column name to see the full name of the score and the minimum and maximum values allowed. Note: If you enter an invalid score value, a fire icon appears next to the invalid score. Allow the cursor to hover over the fire to see an error message explaining the valid range of values for that score. 7. Regarding the Ineligible column, zeroes, and blank scores: If a student is not ready to take the test and you need to report that an attempt was made to test him/her, mark the Inelig-RS column with a Yes and do not enter a score under any of the subtests. The student will show up on reports with a Yes for Ineligible. This student will not be counted on any summaries. If you enter a zero for any of the Raw Scores, that student WILL be counted on summaries for all non-blank subtests. Blank scores are not counted; therefore, results for students who have a blank score for all subtests (and no entry in the Inelig column) will not appear in a report. 8. Click Next when you are finished. (You do not need to enter scores for all the students. You can go back at any time and enter more scores.) You are asked if you wish to proceed. 9. Click OK. The scores are converted from raw scores to scaled scores and performance levels. When the process is completed, you see a message such as the following: 10. If you want to enter more scores or edit any scores, click on Select Another Class. 11. If you are finished entering scores and ready to print reports, choose Select a Test from the Home menu item. 7 Customizing a SELP/SSLP Report ReadyResults comes with templates for Student, Class, School, and District views. There are many ways to customize the elements reported in the formats for each group. The following common questions and answers may help you to customize reports. For more information, go to the document called Viewing, Printing, and Customizing Reports on the ReadyResults.net Home page. Which report type should I choose? If you are a teacher and want to see the scores for all your students, choose a Class Student List report. If you want a report providing scores for each student on separate pages, choose a Student Profile with Letter report. I don t administer all the subtests, how do I control what appears in reports? You can choose to display only the subtests for which your students have scores. To do this: 1. Go to the Create Reports page and click the Subtests parameter button. The Select Subtests page appears. By default, all the subtests are listed in the right under In Report. 2. Double-click on the subtests that you don t want to show on the report so that they appear under Select from and click OK. Are there any reports with graphs? Yes. The Student Profile with Letter report has a line graph for a single score type. The Student Multi-Test shows results for up to five test administrations in one report. The Multi-Test Frequency Distribution reports (under the reporting groups for Class, School, and District) show bars for various scores one subtest per page. The Multi-Test Summary Graphs reports have a bar for each subtest in each test administration you select. By default, the reports are based on the current test administration and the graphs are based on the Raw Scores. You can control the score to graph, using the Display Score parameter. You can add other tests by using the Multi-Test parameter. Can I create pre- and post-test reports, showing SELP/SSLP results for individual students? Yes. Click Select a Test for Reporting on the top Menu bar and choose one of the SELF/SSLP tests you want in the report. For example, choose a SELP/SSLP Fall Placement test administration. On the Create Reports page, choose a multi-test report such as the (1.3) Student Multi-Test. Select the other tests (such as SELF/SSLP Spring) with the Multi-Test parameter. How do I create a report that shows SELP/SSLP scores alongside another test? If you want a report that shows SELP/SSLP scores alongside another test, such as Stanford 10, choose a Student, Class, or School History report type. These reports enable you to mix unrelated tests. Use the History parameter to select other tests. After you have selected other tests within that parameter, use the Subtests and Scores parameters to control the subtests and scores reported. 8 How do I save my customizations? To save the parameters you used to create a particular Primary Test report: 1. Make sure all the parameters are set the way you want them saved. 2. Go to the main Create Reports page. Next to the My Customizations drop-down menu, click Create/Edit. 3. At the Create/Edit a Customization page, enter a name in the Customization Name box and click Save. You can opt to have the Customization Name appear as a title on the report. With the exception of Multi-Test and History reports, you can even have your customization apply to other report types and other test administrations that are similar. All rights reserved. 9 4. When you select that test and report type again later, you can choose the saved customization from the drop-down list next to My Customizations. Is there a way to run reports for subgroups of students? Students can be associated with multiple subgroups and once they are associated, you can filter results by subgroup(s) or display the subgroup(s) on reports. Use the Spc. Codes Filter and Display parameters to control the elements that get reported. All rights reserved. Page 7 of 7
