SPECIFIC OUTCOMES After completion of this module, the students will be able to: 9.1 Analyse the challenges facing Human Resource Management locally as well as internationally. 9.2 Analyse their working environment; to see gaps in human resources needed for specific jobs within their organisation. 3

4 9.3 Assist HR in recruitment, selection and placement of suitable candidates for job vacancies within their departments. 9.4 Manage their careers as well as those of their subordinates; 9.5 Do Performance Management and Appraisal for themselves as well as for their subordinates. 9.6 Have a working/basic knowledge of Labour Relations and Health and Safety Issues that affect them within their working settings. 9.7 Understand the impact of emerging Human Resource Practices on Organisations locally and globally. 10. INSTRUCTIONAL STYLE AND METHODOLOGY The aim of this course is to apply practice-oriented lecturing to enable the student to apply the knowledge in the work environment. Tests (x2) 60 Total: Year Mark 100% 14.2 SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT: Final mark: = (Year mark + Exam mark 2) Please Take Note: a 50% year mark is required for examination entry in all MBA modules and the sub-minimum is 40% in the exam. 15.
