Position reports to Director of Ministries BCC Reportable Positions Doorways Case Workers x3,financial Counsellor, Men s Shed Coordinator, casual staff, administration, PLP/Counsellor and volunteers Position Purpose To provide coordination and supervision of the Doorways Service at BCC. Qualifications To oversee the Doorways Case Workers, Financial Counsellor Doorways volunteers, Administration, and PLP/Counsellor, Community Meals Program (Hub on Eureka), Supermarket, and Men s Shed to ensure the management and delivery of high quality services. To deliver Doorways through an evidence based case management framework To ensure high quality case work is delivered to clients and the community. To ensure BCC Doorways Programs are managed well, including the oversight and management of staff and volunteer rosters, and securing donations to sustain both ER and Meals Program. Ensure integration is maintained and strengthened between corps and Doorways Program, including the continuation and further development of outreach ministries currently undertaken Prayer Ministry, Alpha, Coffee Talk, and Recovery Ministries with view to further development in collaboration with Corps Officers. Minimum qualification in Community Services or other relevant human services discipline of Diploma is essential, Significant experience in the Community Services Sector is essential Experience with The Salvation Army or other industry organisation is advantageous. Job Competencies Required Knowledge of pressures faced by disadvantaged community members and knowledge of human development, health and family issues Ability to work with staff and volunteers collaboratively to develop plans and set goals Demonstrated experience in and genuine commitment to engaging with individuals and families in crises Knowledge of and the ability to access various community resources relevant to each individual or family need Ability to advocate effectively on behalf of individuals and families and to network with relevant community organisations Demonstrated experience and skill in leading a multi-disciplinary team and sound supervision skills, and a willingness to participate in training as deemed necessary by Director of Ministries. Sound administration skills, including data collection processes and computer and software knowledge ie. MS Office suite. Key Result Areas Key Activities Standard Measures Leadership & Supervision Undertake strategic planning and CQI in conjunction with Director of Ministries and staff Strategic Planning and CQI undertaken and monitored as per identified timelines Conduct monthly supervision for all direct reports All direct reports participate in monthly supervision Provide support, supervision and direction to volunteers Volunteers are recruited and supervised in line with TSA Policy and Procedure Conduct the Performance, Plan and Review process for all direct reports All direct reports participate in the Performance Plan and Review process as per TSA policy and procedure Represent BCC at relevant meetings and community forums as directed by Director of Ministries BCC is actively represented at relevant meetings and forums PD BCC Team Leader Doorways_final_ December 2015BCC.doc Page 3

4 Key Result Areas Key Activities Standard Measures Model professional work ethic, reliability, punctuality, flexibility and accountability In conjunction with staff, monitor the intake, screening and case work of individuals and families accessing the service in line with the Doorways Model Assist in the recruitment and orientation of staff and volunteers in conjunction with the Director of Ministries Manage and supervise rosters for volunteers participating in Doorways Programs Supermarket, Second Bite Program, Meals Program (Hub on Eureka) Team follow policies and procedures and work within the TSA code of ethics Individuals and families accessing the service receive a high quality and holistic service, without discrimination. Recruitment and orientation of staff occurs as per TSA policy and procedure. Maintenance and upkeep of rosters, ensuring duties are covered at all times, including after-hours requirements. Recruiting new volunteers. Program Management Monitor programs through regular meetings with staff and review of financial and statistical reports Monitor referrals, monitor the intake and screening of individuals and families presenting in crises Monitor the provision of appropriate assistance in the form of material aid, information, referral, support, counselling and advocacy To implement a an evidence based case management framework Ensure service delivery methods promote best practice standards Ensure staff follow up in the form of referrals, phone calls and written correspondence Collect, record and dispatch relevant data/information as required by TSA and funding bodies including SAMIS Keep up to date with relevant current government policies Maintain and monitor all necessary documentation to ensure consumer files/cards and other written Programs operating effectively and targets, standards and performance measures are met Referrals processed and intake and screening undertaken as per agency policy and procedures and sector standards Individuals and families in need are assessed and provided with the appropriate assistance and support without discrimination Partnerships are in place to provide wrap around services for clients Service delivery methods reflect current best practice standards Program and service delivery methods regularly reviewed and revised as required Appropriate follow up and referral is provided The service is compliant with data collection requirements and funding body requests Able to understand and articulate requirements of relevant government policies PD BCC Team Leader Doorways_final_ December 2015BCC.doc Page 4
