Greenpeace, an international environmental non-government organization, is comprised of 26 independent national and regional offices across the world covering operations in more than 55 countries. To maintain our independence, Greenpeace does not accept donations from governments or corporations but relies on contributions from individual supporters and foundation grants. For over 40 years, Greenpeace has been successful in our campaigns to reverse environmental degradation by bearing witness to environmental destruction and exposing and confronting environmental abuse. Greenpeace campaigns have been vital in informing government policies on the environment and effecting changes in business practices which lead to various environmental problems. Greenpeace in Southeast Asia Greenpeace opened our first office in Southeast Asia in In that time, we have led successful campaigns throughout the region, securing fresher air, cleaner water and a healthier environment through changing industry practices and government policies.

2 Greenpeace actively campaigns across the region to catalyze an energy revolution, protect ancient forests and our oceans, create a toxics-free future and create a shift to sustainable agriculture. Greenpeace has four offices in Southeast Asia (GPSEA) in Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia and currently composed of: Programme Department (Campaigns, Communications, Public Engagement & Actions), Fundraising, Operations Support (Human Resources, Finance & Admin, Information Technology, Security) and Executive Office. Currently, Greenpeace Southeast Asia employs nearly 200 staff across the region, excluding the direct dialogue fundraisers. THE POST: ORGANIZATIONAL PLANNING & EXECUTIVE SUPPORT MANAGER Job Summary: The Organization Planning and Executive Support Manager is responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of GPSEA s multi-year strategies, as well as its annual organizational development plans, This position reports directly to the Executive Director, and will work closely with all relevant units within Greenpeace Southeast Asia and other Greenpeace entities (Greenpeace International and other NROs) in the development, formulation, monitoring, and tracking of GPSEA s overall organizational strategy, its goals and objectives. The position is for Secondment or Fixed-term with initial 2yrs contract. Key Duties 1. Organizational Strategy Contribute to the development and realisation of the overall GPSEA organizational strategy, including ensuring strategic objectives are being met and that the impact is integrated and cohesive. Develop approach to linkages and deployment to ensure alignment to the overall goals of the organization. Coordinate and manage the development of GPSEA s Three Year Strategic Plan (3YSP) and annual Organisational Development Plan (ODP) and ensure that these plans are effectively aligned with GPSEA s vision. Provide advice to the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team in developing the strategic plans and annual Organisational Development Plans covering the full range of integrated functions within GPSEA, to ensure the development and integration of the organization s global,

3 regional and local planning processes across various functions and competencies. Coordinate the monitoring and assessment of GPSEA s implementation of its strategic and annual plans, including the responsibility to assist the Executive Director and the SMT in intervening, identifying gaps, and managing strategy adjustments. Contribute to knowledge management at GPSEA with focus on organisational goals to winning campaigns such as improved performance, innovation, the sharing of lessons learned, integration, and continuous improvement of the organization. Keep abreast of relevant global and regional political developments, socio-economic trends and external factors that may affect the work and the delivery of the GPSEA strategies. 2. Leadership and Management Develop, manage and/or participate in projects led by the Executive Director or as assigned by the Executive Director, in line with the priorities of the organization. Proactively gather information and identify emerging challenges being faced by GPSEA using an aggregate organizational view and timely inform the Executive Director and/or the Senior Leadership Team. Lead in an environment of change where innovation and sharing of ideas and best practices is encouraged, in line with Greenpeace's values. Propose and lead the development of programmes and mechanisms that can enable GPSEA to improve performance and address challenges. 3. Facilitation and Networking Convene relevant GPSEA units in relation to the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic plans and annual organizational development plans. Facilitate annual ODP planning, networking, sharing of knowledge and best practices between teams, especially on broader organisational strategy. Stay up-to-date with various programmes, campaigns, and internal initiatives to foster synergy and opportunities for cooperation and collaboration across Southeast Asia. Organize regional planning team meetings, including agenda setting, facilitation, and ensure logistics support, follow-up of action points. Oversee the support and coordination of the regional planning team.

4 Responsible for communicating and co-ordinating effectively across workstreams, multiple projects and teams, as an integral member of the core planning team by building strong relationships with stakeholders in various organisational areas in order to manage the strategy process from design to implementation. 4. Internal Communication Support the Executive Director in rolling out internal communication strategies including drafting s, Q & As, and other internal statements from the Executive Director. Manage and produce the internal newsletter and other channels meant to update staff on developments in various areas of GPSEA s work Handle the creation and implementation of multiple forms of communication activities and programs. 5. Other Represent GPSEA upon requirements from the organization or externally as necessary. Support projects and provide specific advice at the request of the Executive Director and in line with organizational aims and objectives in order to facilitate the delivery of specific or unique pieces of work as required by the Executive Director. Take on a leadership role in special projects at the request of the Executive Director. Any other duty as requested by the Executive Director. Educational Background & Fundamental Qualifications Level of Education: Academic or higher education qualification in business, management, finance, planning, or information management Field of Study: Management, Planning, or Business Work Experience: Minimum 5 years experience and solid track record in a strategic planning, project coordination, senior management and/or leadership experience within a global organization Masters degree education in a related field is an advantage Solid strategy development credentials gained in private sector or international non-profits

This will be from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 6: 30 pm. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers. LEAVE A permanent employee will be entitled to the following leaves: Annual Leave: 20 days Parental Leave: As per labor laws and Greenpeace policy Long Service Leave: 2 months paid leave after 5 years of continuous service Compassionate leave: maximum of 5 days for the death of significant others SALARY In determining salary offer for this position, Greenpeace applies its Salary Grading Process, taking into consideration the job description and applicant s previous experience, and the organization s salary grade.
